MUNGOLOID
09.08.13 | the low end theory > midnight marauders |
DrMaximus
09.08.13 | Please tell me this isn't ranked. |
treeqt.
09.08.13 | yoona > all of them |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | I disagree MUNGOLOID, I know that's the popular opinion but I've heard The Low End Theory several times and whilst it's great I feel Midnight Marauders is more consistent. |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | It's ranked DrMaximus, how many of these have you heard? |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | Yoona ilovetree? |
DrMaximus

FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | Lol I see DrMaximus, you gotta here some more a lot of them. |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | I've still gotta here that Meatsalad, very fond of Madlib. |
MeatSalad
09.08.13 | The unseen is the best thing madlib ever did imo |
StallionMang
09.08.13 | Paul's Boutique? |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | I've gotta hear that as well Meatsalad as I love Madvillany. |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | StallionMang I've heard Paul's Boutuque twice now and it has amazing production and sever great tracks but it just didn't amaze me on the same level as many others. |
MeatSalad
09.08.13 | Ye im sure you'd love it if you enjoy madvillainy |
Greyvy
09.08.13 | 3 4 or 6 should have been 1. |
Buzzkillr
09.08.13 | good list but definitely too much indie shit on there |
StallionMang
09.08.13 | Also, if you like Madlib/Quasimoto and Madvillain, you should check out Take Me To Your Leader by King Geedorah (MF Doom and friends) and Madlib's Shades of Blue. |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | Greyvy I can understand that. |
StallionMang
09.08.13 | Yeah, interesting choice for 1, but certainly not a bad one. |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | Buzzkillr, too much? I disagree seeming as most of the best Hip Hop I've heard is Indie and I've been studying the genre for over 10 years. |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | Yea i'll definitely get around to it StallionMang. |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | StallionMang I know you wouldn't see that as number 1 that often but that album just blows my mind, I showed it to my mate who was a Metalhead, the first Hip Hop album he'd heard he was keen to hear more. |
Drpibb
09.08.13 | check out
KRS-One
De La Soul
CunninLynguists
and EL-P's solo work |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | I've heard albums from all of them Drpibb, they just didn't quiet make it. |

09.08.13 | from a huge JMT fan boy since the 9th grade.. #2 is highly overrated. lol no. doesnt belong on top 25 man, let alone #2 |
TheCollectiveFacade
09.08.13 | lol just realized no blackstar on the list. dude that almost discredits your list.. k-rhino is filth
tho but 25 and no blackstar.. geez |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | Oh shit it's not my fault Black Star has great tracks along with a little bit of filler.
Violent by Design is JMT's best full stop, how many of these have you even heard in order to discredit the list? |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | Wtf is it with arrogant Hip Hop heads i'm saying "from what I've heard" I've heard a bit of everything that ya'll are mentioning. |
Relinquished
09.08.13 | I love Ridiculoid off Cold Vein. it's so damn good.
check out Orphans of Cush |
demigod!
09.08.13 | where's Fantastic Damage?? I know this list already has some El-P related stuff on it but seriously that's probably my favourite post-90's hip hop album |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | Oh Yea Relinquished, i'll check that out. |
somnolence
09.08.13 | wheres dj screw |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | demigod93 I hate to admit it but I've still gotta hear that. |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | R.I.P Dj Screw. |
demigod!
09.08.13 | get on it man it's my favourite of his works (and i love all his stuff) |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | Yea I gotta man I own I'll Sleep When Your Dead and Love it, loved Run The Jewels to but I've gotta hear the rest of El-P's work. |
slep
09.08.13 | this is a good list for sure, though i honestly don't get jedi mind tricks |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | I see it took me a while to get into them myself slep, but if you do begin to like them it becomes an obsession for most including myself. |
MikeC26
09.08.13 | Pretty good list.
Check Quasimoto for sure though. It's one of my favorites. |
TheCollectiveFacade
09.08.13 | ive heard pretty much everything on this list spare 3-4 albums |
TheCollectiveFacade
09.08.13 | btw you mention filler on blackstar.... VBD is 50 percent filler |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.08.13 | What haven't you heard?, VBD get's better the more you hear it and to me it took a while to truly appreciate but it does go together perfectly. I don't like the way BlackStar ends, it is a great album though. |
TheCollectiveFacade
09.09.13 | fair enough man. Ive been listening to VBD for 7 years now and ive coming to this conclusion myself so i have a reasonable(and justified) stance on it from my perspective. I have yet to hear 22,16,12 - which would you recommend i begin first |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.09.13 | You have a valid opinion then, fair enough. I'd recommend 12 first, Eyedea is one of the best rappers ever that album is truly essential. The full album is on Youtube. |
theshelfmaster
09.24.13 | you really like Illadelph Halflife more than Things Fall Apart? i find illadelph really boring haha |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.26.13 | Yea I really do theshelfmaster, wow boring? it's raw as hell. One of the albums that literally made my mind explode, Things Fall Apart is more experimental but illadelph Halflife has some of the best lyrical performances ever (Black Thought and Malik B never quiet reached it again) and I love the way it flows together. |
FuncrusherPlus1
09.26.13 | Had to add Black Star in after further thinking it through. |
