Saturday Night List
Got a bit shitty, shuffled my 'Liked' videos on YouTubez; here are the highlights.
Sorry there aren't any deftones tracks to legitimize the list title.
Recs, frigging off (Lahey), all welcomed.
Took a bit to put together and I'm shittier now, sorry for errors and stuff. |
1 | | Wild Beasts Present Tense
'Mecca'
'We move in fear, we move in desire.'
Love these guys. |
2 | | Noah Gundersen Family
'Family'
I can't believe you fucks made me get this from Sons of Anarchy on Shazam.., Never thought an Andy Hull clone could be sooooo good. |
3 | | Alcest Shelter
'Voix Sereines'
This is the most beautiful song ever, period. It was good already and I finally read the lyrics about a year ago and got leveled. |
4 | | O'Brother Garden Window
'Cleanse Me'
This is the sole reason O'Bro gets compared to Thrice. I blame the Fire vibes toward the end. |
5 | | Tribulation The Children of the Night
'Strange Gateways Beckon'
I'm not familiar with the genre of this album and already feel like this is the crown jewel. |
6 | | Horrendous Anareta
'Sum of All Failures'
Title always makes me want to listen to The Failure of All Things by H the B, but owns in an entirely different way. |
7 | | Snakefeast The Pythoness
'Wither'
Album owns, but the replay value suffered a bit. These guys have a long way to go, but I think they are poised to hammer out some beauties. |
8 | | Kevin Devine Make the Clocks Move
'Ballgame'
A constant kick in the nuts and reminder of my vices.
'A good man doesn't drink,
and I've been drinking alone.
So what does that make me?'
'And when you realize it's a pattern and not a phase,
it's what you've become and it's what you will stay;
That's ballgame.'
One of my favorites. |
9 | | Murder by Death Like the Exorcist, but More Breakdancing
'Flamenco's Fuckin Easy'
Just a good track, a nice intro for noobs to the band t see the styles the band can perfect. |
10 | | Wild Beasts Smother
'Reach a Bit Further'
"Tear jerker,
shadow lurker,
wonder worker,
reach a bit further.
Will you, by any chance?
Yes I will." |
11 | | Animals As Leaders The Joy of Motion
'Lippincott'
Tosin makes sure I know that even if I learn to play guitar that my efforts will be futile. |
12 | | Portugal. The Man Church Mouth
'Church Mouth'
When will these guys release a new album and will they continue to venture toward accessibility or will they revert to their awesome tendency to make a solid, thematic album that we haven't heard yet??? I think there is a reason their production has halted and I hope they've made the best of their time off. |
13 | | All Shall Perish The Price of Existence
'There is No Business to Be Done on a Dead Planet'
Acceptable, exceptional deathcore. Sit and spin if you just shook your head. |
14 | | Author and Punisher Women and Children
'Melee'
This guy has a masterpiece in him, I swear. He does so much on his own. |
15 | | Arsonists Get All the Girls Listen to the Color
'When I Was Your Age Pluto Was Still a Planet'
They went out and they went out swinging. It's a shame they didn't have support enough to continue. |
16 | | Department of Eagles The Cold Nose
'Sailing by Night'
Grizzly Bear off-shoot complete with kazoo. GTFO. |
