Kingdok's 2021
1The Wildhearts
21st Century Love Songs

A grower and then some. Took 4-5 listens to dig its hooks in, and eventually rose to be a top 3 'hearts album. The consistently high quality is a massive leap forward from the good but patchy Rennaisance Men

My Head Wants Me Dead
2Ice Nine Kills
The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood

An immensely addictive album. The variety on display lifts this album above the rest of their pretty decent discography, and if they can take this forward and grow their sound from the horror movie gimmick then big things lie ahead.

Funeral Derangements
3Fear Factory
Aggression Continuum

The most Fear Factory of records, a glorious culmination of the majority of their career with a liitle hint at what may be on the post-Seabell horizon

Monolith
4Future Funk Squad
Unified Forms

FFS albums always bring the cinematic, and this time it's with a very organic feel. Was a little concerned that there would be too much vox, but it's become probably my favourite of his albums

Prophet Margin
5Beyond Paranoid
Dead Meat

On the back of DFD and Polkadot Cadaver my expectations were high. It does drag in places, but when it's good it is very good.

Her Name Is Death
6Carcass
Torn Arteries

Always had an issue with the throaty vocal style, but this is still a bit special. My favourite since Heartwork.

Flesh Ripping Sonic Torment Limited
7Ventana
The Nature of Betrayal

The best industrial album I've heard in quite a while, big improvement on their previous work too.

Destroy Something Beautiful
8Devil Sold His Soul
Loss

Thought these guys were done and dusted, but have come back with their best effort yet. Album is still growing on me.

The Narcissist
9Every Time I Die
Radical

Something about these guys never connected with me, but I'm feeling this more than any of their others.

A Colossal Wreck
10Inferi (USA)
Vile Genesis

Always prefer my death metal on the melo side, which this does nicely.

Heirs of the Descent
