I'm getting slightly burned out on their stuff already but I'm open to other hip-hop recs! @Ben! hope you've been well. I think you will love 2, let me know what you think!

Atari 10.29.19	that's nice of you Diva but this list is pretty sputcore honestly, haha. these were all discovered though this site ;) that being said, I did try to include a few albums I feel are overlooked gems this year (like that Telethon which should have 100 votes by now, dammit)

Also wanna second the love for 3, the opener is one of my favorites of the year. And 6 of course. Guess I gotta check this whole list lol Gonna rec the new Courtney Swain from this year, as well as Emily Scott Robinson's debut. Think you'd dig them both, especially Emily Scott Robinson!

peekatoad 10.29.19	I think Run the Jewels 3rd album is average. It sounds similar to the first, but more of a mainstream vibe Starlesscore (i think their name is) recommended FBG Dutchie for some hip hop. But i actually like FBG Young more than him. But he does have great collabs with Dutchie. But there is a whole crew of FBG people that are releasing some killer Hip Hop

WatchItExplode 10.29.19	Will add 3 to the list and maybe give 2 another shot. Hated the first song on Devon Kay but the rest was pretty good. Great Grandpa will be my AOTY almost without question. The soaring chorus of English Garden is closer to Jesus than Kanye could ever hope to be. The Big Thief comparison is a good one except they are simultaneously more tender and more rocking...like Big Thief + Hop Along but more realized than either.

Atari 10.29.19	to me Great Grandpa is like a mixture of Eisley, Hop Along and Phoebe Bridgers, but there are so many influences throughout without feeling contrived @dmathias, yeah I was guilty of not really giving country a chance before honestly and Kacey was one of the artists who got me into the genre. but I just don't see what some people find so special about her in comparison to similar country pop artists

dmathias52 10.29.19	@Atari I think a lot of Kacey's appeal is she came at the right time. Good, optimistic pop music in a time of turmoil. Just such a good feel good album that nostalgia is already attached too. For that appeal, I'll definitely be grateful for her. @WatchItExplode The 90s alt is one of my favorite things about it. I think the lyrics really give that vibe a lot, especially Bloom.

You're welcome on the recs, by the way, it's just great I have a place where i can share my unique taste, get ridiculed and celebrated at the same time by such a diverse community. Prior to this, I'd force my family and friends to hear about all my new discoveries. And for when you have a spare hour and a half, you need to listen to Telethon's 2017 apocalyptic rock opera, the Grand Spontanean. Laura Stevenson and Chris Farren sing on it as well. It will feature in my top 25 albums of the decade. You really need to pay attention to the story, it's about the end of the Internet, but has some great lyrics throughout, like the track Stillwave. "that sentiment extinguished quickly when i caught the sight of a 50 something crewcutted dad-looking guy throw an empty garbage can through the window of a best buy and carry out a flat screen a couple sets of DVDs of How I Met Your Mother "Motherfucker! "Bloom" in particular has a similar aesthetic as Night Flowers' music @chan, looking forward to hearing RTJ3! I'm just taking a short break from their music so I don't get burned out on them too quickly "that description for 7 sums up the entire sputnik hip-hop community" hey, at least I'm trying! ;)
Dewinged 10.30.19	Yeah, man, their debut was so good. When it finally clicked for me I felt it was way too late to review it, but it definitely deserves a write up. "Cruel Wind" is smth else.
