nononsense
03.18.13 | Sweet! I think you mean setlist, but nbd |
PistolPete
03.18.13 | Was gonna see them here in Calgary but I checked out their setlists and like this one I was pretty unimpressed. For a band who has a pretty high hit rate for me on their albums, they never play the truly GREAT songs live (maybe I just like the non-singles who knows)
In other news, Clutch is in Calgary on April 5 and their latest album is insane |
Storm In A Teacup
03.18.13 | Still this would be amazing to see. |
toxin.
03.18.13 | yeah? yeah? yeah? FUCK YOU
i'm gonna be bitter til i see fin live damn it |
toxin.
03.18.13 | pwalcher they played fin. what other truly GREAT songs do you want? |
PistolPete
03.18.13 | @toxin: this is true...but they also played 1, 3, and 10 which are all fine songs but are easily amongst their blandest songs. Wish they would play "Type Three", then I'd go. |
toxin.
03.18.13 | I dig 1 and 10 but I like almost all their discog so... you're right though. I'd much prefer Type Three, or something like Pray Tell off of DitW but meh. Any Anberlin is good Anberlin for me |
Underflow
03.18.13 | I watched their concert on AXS TV the other day, and wasn't impressed. Curious though, how big was the venue? |
Ecnalzen
03.18.13 | They did a Godspeed/fin combo for the end? That was probly pretty coo.
I don't think I have heard I'd Like To Die. What be that from? |
toxin.
03.18.13 | @Ecnal I'd Like to Die is a cover... someone else posted a setlist of their concert and they played it then too. I forget by whom though |
Ecnalzen
03.18.13 | Interesting. I will have to youtubes a live video someday.
I would really like to see them play again. They have released 3 albums since I last saw them, lol. |
KjSwantko
03.18.13 | Pretty gnar set list. |
North0House2
03.18.13 | Fin is the best. |
pbass0
03.18.13 | @nononsense yea man my b |
pbass0
03.18.13 | @pwalcher they really have a lot of good ones that they never play like to the wolves, anything else off of cities, a day late, blame me!, retrace, haight street, and time & confusion |
pbass0
03.18.13 | @toxin. ok that would make sense because I have been listening to anberlin for like 5 years and i had no idea what the song was! |
pbass0
03.18.13 | @underflow it was pretty small actually. like probably 200 hundred people max
@ecnalzen ...well, i just ran out of room in the list...hahahaha but fin was the encore, so they left and then played fin |
pbass0
03.18.13 | i mean i wished that they played longer, but it wasnt a bad set list. i was surprised that they played three songs off of never take friendship personal though |
toxin.
03.18.13 | @pbass, don't be surprised they played three NTFP songs. Paperthin Hymn and TFGD are two of their biggest hits and they always play NTFP too (they opened with it in their 2011 tour with Switchfoot). I'd love if they replaced NTFP with like Retrace, A Whisper and A Clamor, Audrey, Start the Revolution!, etc. still sounds like a real solid setlist with fin.
what was the Godspeed/(*fin) thing like? |
TheCollectiveFacade
03.18.13 | horrible choice of tracks to use from vital |
Apollo
03.18.13 | too bad anberlin sucks |
toxin.
03.18.13 | too bad YOU suck |
pbass0
03.19.13 | @toxin. oh really? well, this was the first time i saw them, so i had no idea. But yea, they really should play more of those songs because they have so many non-hits that are awesome.
and well, the godspeed/(*fin) was actually two separate songs...i ran out of room on this list lol so they played godspeed, people went nuts. and then they left and came on for the encore with (*fin) |
pbass0
03.19.13 | @thecollective I think they should have played god, drugs & sex or self-starter |
toxin.
03.19.13 | "But yea, they really should play more of those songs because they have so many non-hits that are awesome"
eh it's appeal, people would be disappointed if they didn't play their hits.
they're not bad songs anyways so I don't really mind though there are definitely non-singles I'd kill to see live (Inevitable!)
oh lmao alright. |
Ecnalzen
03.19.13 | I bet it can be tough to pick what songs to to play in a limited amount of time when you are that for into your discography. |
