The Fourth Hundred Shows
bands I have seen 300-400 give or take a few stragglers. |
1 | | The Slow Death (MN) Born Ugly Got Worse
Spare Parts 2017
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis 2/24/17
This was an acoustic and comedy show, every band here went acoustic and in between each set there were standup comedians. It was pretty fun. |
2 | | The Arrivals Marvels of Industry
Spare Parts 2017
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis 2/24/17 |
3 | | Off With Their Heads Won't Be Missed
Spare Parts 2017
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis 2/24/17
Obviously the reason for the acoustic theme of the night was to support this acoustic album. It was still a fun sing along. |
4 | | Rozwell Kid Too Shabby
After The Party Tour
The Cabooze, Minneapolis 3/4/2017 |
5 | | Jeff Rosenstock Worry.
After The Party Tour
The Cabooze, Minneapolis 3/4/2017
oh my god this was so great |
6 | | The Menzingers After the Party
After The Party Tour
The Cabooze, Minneapolis 3/4/2017
As was this. This was probably the best set I've seen them perform. I did suffer a concussion during "Time Tables" due to an ill placed pole in the middle of the venue. Great time though. |
7 | | Royal Brat Eyesore
D4th of July
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis 7/1/2017
Finally 21, and so I can finally attend the d4th of July party. The opener band was actually a cover band called Edge Break, it was all straight edge hardcore covers and it was pretty brilliant, but I have never heard anything about them since. Shame. Anyway this band was alright too. |
8 | | Color TV Color TV
D4th of July
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis 7/1/2017
This was around the time that I discovered this band and I was immediately excited. Meat Wagon was one of my favorite songs of that summer. The set itself was unfortunately paint by the numbers. |
9 | | Neighborhood Brats Total Dementia
D4th of July
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis 7/1/2017 |
10 | | Vacation Non-Person
D4th of July
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis 7/1/2017 |
11 | | The Dopamines Expect the Worst
D4th of July
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis 7/1/2017 |
12 | | Dillinger Four C I V I L W A R
D4th of July
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis 7/1/2017
this must have been the first time I ever saw D4. It was awesome, and I broke my glasses and I was very very drunk. Only way to be at D4. |
13 | | Queen A Night at the Opera
Xcel Energy Center - St. Paul 7/14/2017
With Adam Lambert of course. My dad got free tickets so we went, it was actually pretty fun. I kind of despise Queen fans, but seeing Brighton Rock and Stone Cold Crazy live was awesome. |
14 | | Parliament Mothership Connection
State Fair Bandshell - Falcon Heights 8/26/17
Parliament-Funkadelic. Two hours of bliss. Maggot Brain live was immense. |
15 | | Skating Polly The Big Fit
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2017
Back to the Wal-Mart parking lot, and this time I am going to riot fest completely alone for the first time since 2013 |
16 | | Tobacco Sweatbox Dynasty
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2017
Such a trip of a set |
17 | | Warm Brew Ghetto Beach Boyz
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2017 |
18 | | Liars Mess
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2017 |

Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2017 |
21 | | Death From Above You're a Woman, I'm a Machine
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2017
They did not sound good at all live, it was a massive bummer. |
22 | | Ministry Psalm 69
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2017 |
23 | | New Order Blue Monday
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2017
marked tf out |
24 | | Nine Inch Nails Add Violence
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/15/2017
This was just… Amazing. NIN was my favorite band for a large portion of my life, and Trent puts on a hell of a show every time. The lighting rig they had set up was one of my favorite light shows ever. It was a simple plain white sheet background, and they’d have just spotlights shining upwards on them creating a moving silhouette, and it was so simple, yet so mesmerizing. Throughout the set the white sheet slowly turned into The Downward Spiral’s album cover. God damn what a show. |
25 | | RVIVR RVIVR
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2017 |
26 | | The Smith Street Band More Scared of You Than You Are of Me
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2017
Brilliant. |
27 | | Shabazz Palaces Black Up
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2017 |
28 | | Bad Brains Bad Brains
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2017
This is probably the worst set I’ve ever sat through. And it came from the band I was most excited to see during this weekend. HR was straight up catatonic, mumbling his way through each song. It was heartbreaking to witness, and I actually wish I didn’t cross Bad Brains off my bucket list. |
29 | | The Lawrence Arms Oh! Calcutta!
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2017
This was an album play through! I didn’t know it was gonna be, but I can’t complain getting to see this album from front to back |
30 | | Gogol Bordello Seekers And Finders
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2017 |
31 | | Lucky Chops NYC
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2017 |
32 | | Streetlight Manifesto Somewhere in the Between
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/16/2017
Holy fuck this was nuts. Streetlight is consistently one of the most intense bands I’ve ever seen live. This time was a bit overwhelming, and I ended up having to take a breather for the last half of the set. But I made myself a friend in the process, so that’s nice. |
33 | | Beach Slang The Things We Do to Find People Who Feel
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2017
THE NIGHT(afternoon) IS ALIVE ITS LOUD AND IM DRUNK |

Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2017 |
35 | | Say Anything ...Is a Real Boy
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2017 |
36 | | The Menzingers Rented World
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2017
big ol sing along |
37 | | Pennywise All or Nothing
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2017 |
38 | | Dinosaur Jr. You're Living All Over Me
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2017 |
39 | | Prophets of Rage Prophets of Rage
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2017
Aight look. We all know that this glorified cover band is pretty terrible. But holy fuck it is so much fun seeing the Rage, Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill songs live. |
40 | | Jawbreaker Dear You
Riot Fest 2017
Douglas Park, Chicago, 9/17/2017
This was magical. I managed to be pretty close for this set, and as they were getting ready to start playing, the backstage and side stages were just surrounded with all the other artists who played the fest watching so they could witness the first Jawbreaker reunion show. From opening with “Boxcar” to ending it with the monolithic “Bivouac”, it was magic from start to finish. |
41 | | Mall'd To Death Can't Make A Living
The Old Bar at The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 10/3/2017
Went for a weekly drink at the T-rock and got surprised with a free show in the bar, it was tight |
42 | | Drones Guts
The Old Bar at The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 10/3/2017 |
43 | | Mitski Puberty 2
Palace Theater, St. Paul 10/10/2017 |
44 | | Pixies Doolittle
Palace Theater, St. Paul 10/10/2017
This was absolutely incredible except for the unforgivable fact that they did not play “Hey” |
45 | | Death Grips Bottomless Pit
Skyway Theater, Minneapolis, 10/26/2017
Birthday gift to myself. Absolutely insanity. |
46 | | Ministry AmeriKKKant
Skyway Theater, Minneapolis, 10/26/2017
Ahhhh yeah I ended up leaving halfway through this, I saw this set in September |
47 | | The Bad Man Aint Clean
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 10/31/2017
Drunken fun on Halloween night wandering the city |
48 | | The Slow Death (MN) No Heaven
The Final Night at The Triple Rock
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 11/21/2017
The night I dreaded the most. The Triple Rock was closing down, and they were having one final show for it. The show sold out in less than ten minutes and I wasn’t going to go, but I felt an overwhelming desire to go, a need to go. So I spent 250$ on a ticket from Craigslist, I couldn’t let this opportunity slip through my fingers. |
49 | | Victory (MN) Twin Cities EP
The Final Night at The Triple Rock
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 11/21/2017
250$ spend, I got dropped off at the entrance of the venue about an hour and a half early. Sitting in the freezing November cold. Social anxiety struck, and I decided to make small talk to this small person next to me. Turns out she was from Canada and she trekked here by herself just to see her favorite band at the Triple Rock before it closed down. We ended up talking until the doors opened. |
50 | | Kitten Forever 7 Hearts
The Final Night at The Triple Rock
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 11/21/2017
Well, it turns out we ended up hanging out for the entire show, being that we were both alone in a packed venue. |
51 | | Negative Approach Negative Approach
The Final Night at The Triple Rock
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 11/21/2017
Oh and i fucking saw Negative Approach, hell yeah |
52 | | Dillinger Four Midwestern Songs of the Americas
The Final Night at The Triple Rock
The Triple Rock, Minneapolis, 11/21/2017
As a marching band came through the old bar and out to the show space playing a funeral dirge in honor of the greatest venue ever, Dillinger Four soon took to the stage, thanking everyone for making their venue so legendary. What followed was a bittersweet set I will never forget. And my newfound friend and I exchanged numbers, and hung out the next day as I toured the city for her. She’s currently my best friend, and we’ve texted every single day since she hopped on a plane back home. My closest and my dearest friend, I guess when you let go of something you love, something else can take its place pretty quickly.
Truthfully I don't remember much of the sets, yet this night remains possibly one of the most important nights in my life. |
53 | | Canadian Rifle Deep Ends
7th Street Entry, Minneapolis, 11/30/2017 |

I was so sick at this point I could barely stand |
56 | | Iron Chic Not Like This
7th Street Entry, Minneapolis, 11/30/2017
There was no way I couldn’t get into the crowd for this set tho. |

58 | | Greg Grease Down So Long

Wrestlepalooza XI
First Ave, Minneapolis, 1/6/18

62 | | Caitlin Rose The Stand In
Music Hall, Minneapolis, 4/17/18 |
63 | | Brian Fallon Sleepwalkers
Music Hall, Minneapolis, 4/17/18
Seeing Brian is always a pleasure, and this is no different. He just radiates charisma when he’s on a solo tour. Seeing my favorite song performed is always lovely, along with a select few Horrible Crowes tunes
Big Banter Brian. |
64 | | Pond (AUS) The Weather
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/1/18
Roadtrip time! I packed up my things to drive all the way to a friend’s place in brooklyn. Stopped in Philly on the way there, then after staying at my friend's place I got an airbnb on the Upper East Side. Driving in NYC was a scary thought, but besides accidently using a tunnel that was apparently tolled, it all went very well. |
65 | | Wolf Alice Visions of a Life
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/1/18 |
66 | | Alvvays Alvvays
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/1/18 |
67 | | Maggie Rogers Now That The Light Is Fading
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/1/18
alaska kinda slaps tho |
68 | | Yeah Yeah Yeahs Fever To Tell
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/1/18
They were absolutely awesome live. Somehow-during the entire festival- there was barely a thick crowd, so it was incredibly easy to move up close to almost every stage |
69 | | The Glitch Mob Drink the Sea
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/1/18 |
70 | | Jack White Blunderbuss
Really not huge on his solo work, and the performance wasn’t all that great, but it was absolutely shocking to me how little people were at this headlining set. I walked up to the front with ease. I think it’s because the crowd very much skewed towards the rich white zoomer kid side, which actually led to a very… very obnoxious atmosphere. |
71 | | The Regrettes (USA-CA) Feel Your Feelings Fool!
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/2/18
Day 2 of GovBall. The reason I came, and the last day I attended |
72 | | Moses Sumney Aromanticism
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/2/18
This man is majestic, and he roasted the annoying people in the crowd
This was the last day I attended, cause Eminem was headlining the final night and that didn’t seem worth the extra 50$, I spent the next sunday instead exploring manhattan and bar-hopping as I’ve never been to NYC. People in NYC are so nice, and I actually felt like I belonged, I met so many wonderful people. |
73 | | The Menzingers Toy Soldier
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/2/18
A lot of people were waiting for 2 Chainz at this point. So it was a lot of really young kids watching this band they’ve never heard of. Eventually there was a moshpit and those younger kids were shook. But they seemed to all have a good time watching all of it. It was kinda cool. |
74 | | Japandroids Celebration Rock
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/2/18
The sound was off for their set, which was strange considering every other set was on point. |
75 | | 2 Chainz Pretty Girls Like Trap Music
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/2/18
Ludicrous crowd |
76 | | Manchester Orchestra A Black Mile to the Surface
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/2/18
I missed half this set, because I had to wait 45 minutes for a fucking ramen burger.
It was a good burger. |
77 | | The Gaslight Anthem The '59 Sound
Governors Ball
Randall’s Island Park, NYC, 6/2/18
Theco- headliners for the second night were the reason for my giant road trip to new york. The Gaslight Anthem was reuniting to play my favorite album of all time from front to back--I could not miss this. It was a spellbinding performance, it even rained during “The Patient Ferris Wheel”. I really couldn’t have asked for anything more…. I guess except for a Bruce appearance considering he was playing a show on Broadway earlier in the day ($600 tickets god damn). After I left NYC I traveled up long island through Amityville and to Montauk meeting many people and breaking into a former government facility along the way. Then took a ferry across the ocean to Connecticut and drove up to Salem and then to Treehouse Brewery. Then head home. It was an amazing trip. |
78 | | MURF MURF
D4th of July
Grumpy’s Downtown, Minneapolis, 6/30/18
I hit up the Extreme Noise flea market and were informed that this band was one not to miss, so we were pretty pumped. And god DAMN. It’s robocop inspired hardcore, the band came out dressed like smurfs, and spit blood and fucking killed it. One of the best local acts I ever saw. Also next door there was a wedding, so people from the wedding would come out on the balcony to see what the noise was and see this chaos. |
79 | | Off With Their Heads Home
D4th of July
Grumpy’s Downtown, Minneapolis, 6/30/18
I should mention the very first band on the bill was speedweed, but they have no recorded music. So.
OWTH was a typically great set. |
80 | | Boris the Sprinkler Mega Anal
D4th of July
Grumpy’s Downtown, Minneapolis, 6/30/18 |
81 | | Dillinger Four Situationist Comedy

TCMF |
82 | | Spotlights Seismic
Varsity Theater, Minneapolis 7/7/18 |
83 | | Quicksand Interiors
Varsity Theater, Minneapolis 7/7/18
It was cool and all, but really an hour and a half for an opening set was a bit much |
84 | | Glassjaw Material Control
Varsity Theater, Minneapolis 7/7/18
This show was absolutely barren. There were maybe 50 people in the venue which is absolutely insane to me. Glassjaw were fantastic though. |
85 | | Gay Witch Abortion Maverick
Grumpy’s Downtown, Minneapolis, 8/11/18 |
86 | | Seawhores Opus Magnanimous
Grumpy’s Downtown, Minneapolis, 8/11/18
Fucking LOUD |
87 | | Petty Larcenists Stolen Chords and Lifted Riffs
Hexagon, Minneapolis, 8/17/18

96 | | Earth, Wind and Fire I Am

Sped allll the way home from Chicago to make it to this show on time.
It was glorious. |
97 | | The Righteous Brothers Just Once In My Life
State Fair Grandstand, Falcon Heights, 8/27/2018
I had no idea this was the dude who did the Dirty Dancing song |
98 | | The Beach Boys Pet Sounds
State Fair Grandstand, Falcon Heights, 8/27/2018
Mike Love is a douche, but I still love the Beach Boys. Besides them playing a lot of their annoying songs (Hawaii), they also played some amazing cuts I didn’t expect (Wild Honey) |
99 | | Thompson Twins Into the Gap
State Fair Grandstand, Falcon Heights, 9/3/2018
I literally had no idea who this was until “Hold Me Now” started and I lost my shit |
100 | | The B-52s The B-52's
State Fair Grandstand, Falcon Heights, 9/3/2018
The real reason to go to this show, The B-52's were weird and incredible. Didn’t lose a step. |
101 | | Culture Club Colour by Numbers
State Fair Grandstand, Falcon Heights, 9/3/2018 |
|
