| The Office:Top 10 Episodes
Season 8 is going much better than I expected. 2-11 are my top 10 episodes of The Office in no real order, and 13-16 are the 4 Season 8 episodes that have aired so far, from worst to best. | 1 | | The Office Top 10
as of first list edit, these are in no particular order. | 2 | | Ophis Withered Shades
Safety Training - This episode may be completely unmatched for pure lols-per-minute. There's really nothing much more to say here, except that "You Braveheart, man. You Braveheart." The best episode of the best season of The Office. | 3 | | Nader Sadek In the Flesh
The Job - In my opinion, this edges out Casino Night as the best season finale of The Office. Jan goes insane, Dwight takes over the office for a day (not as good as the S7 ep entirely devoted to him doing that, but still hilarious), and the Jim/Pam moment at the end is one of the best in the series. Also, Ryan's close was the perfect setup for Season 4. | 4 | | Lantlos Agape
The Injury - There is nothing to say here except that this episode is everything great about Steve Carrell's character condensed into 21 minutes. | 5 | | Carbonized For the Security
The Duel - As far as pure plot, this is one of the best episodes in the entire series. They'd been building up to this ever since the Season 4 finale, and it paid off in spades. The Prius thing was lol, and the way Andy and Dwight both saw eye-to-eye at the end of the episode was great. Angela is basically the Devil. | 6 | | Anberlin Cities
Goodbye, Michael - The most perfect exit anyone could have hoped for. The writers did an amazing job at making this one of the series' most touching episodes while totally avoiding the sappiness that could have easily been present here. Michael's moments with Jim, Pam, and Dwight are nothing short of amazing, and his final "That's what she said" is perfect. There also seems to be another Toby in Boulder. Sorry, Mike. There are 2 of them. | 7 | | Modern Life Is War Witness
Niagara - If you didn't like this episode, you have no soul. Plan C/B/A, omg | 8 | | Rishloo Feathergun
Dinner Party - It is so hard to sit through this episode, and I mean that in the best way possible. Cringe humor at its most awesome. Also, this ep has one of Michael's best "That's what she said" moments of all time. | 9 | | East of the Wall Split
Gay Witch Hunt - The kiss scene may be the most hilariously awkward thing this show has ever dreamed up: the fact that that whole thing was unscripted/improv makes it all the more amazing. | 10 | | Ash Borer Ash Borer
Casino Night - There are a lot of things this episode does extremely well, but... "Why are you the way that you are? Honestly, every time I try and do something *fun,* or *exciting,* you make it... not... that way. I hate... So much, about the things you choose to be." My favorite line from any TV show or movie. Ever. | 11 | | 40 Watt Sun The Inside Room
Goodbye, Toby - The entire exit interview is so damn perfect... There aren't many times in this series when I've laughed harder. I live for Michael vs Toby moments. | 12 | | The Office Season 8
the 4 episodes aired as of 10/14/2011, ranked from worst to best. | 13 | | Tangled Thoughts of Leaving Deaden the Fields
Worst: Lotto. While this was strong in the area of character development (Andy reprimanding Darryl may have been one of the best moments of the past couple seasons), the writers did not put many laughs into an episode whose premise could have easily made for an absolutely hilarious 21 minutes (however, the one good joke had me laughing out loud. Senor Loadenstein, porque es muy rapido). Also, Jim's stupidity was uncharacteristic, and Kevin is getting so overused. | 14 | | Black Sheep Wall I Am God Songs
3rd: The List. It has a disappointingly low number of funny moments (especially for a season premiere), Stanley's "shove it up your butt" thing was stupid and completely out of character, and Pam's crying was annoying. That being said, it did a great job at setting up Andy as manager, and it also had some good scenes with James Spader. "The List" was also a great ensemble episode. | 15 | | Nails Unsilent Death
2nd: The Incentive. Maybe the most Andy-centric of the 4 season 8 eps that have aired so far, this one's very linear, character-based plot was different from the premeire in a lot of ways. It was great to see everyone turn the office into a productivity machine, and Andy's following through with the tattoo did a good job at differentiating him from Michael, who would never have actually gone through with anything like that. Also, Stanley's "Unleash the power of the pyramid!" was hilarious. | 16 | | Nembrionic Psycho One Hundred
Best: Garden Party. This was without a doubt one of the funniest episodes of The Office that I've seen in quite a while. Andy's family dynamics made me really feel for the guy, and I'm also really happy that the writers didn't cop out and give him and his dad an "Oh I'm proud of you for who you are cuz you're my son n stuff" moment. They went through with his parents being jackasses, and that made the moment at the end with the rest of the office mean a lot more (the moment in question was great in its balance: it was emotional, but the writers showed major restraint and didn't make it super sappy and drawn out). Jim's prank on Dwight, while it may have been unrealistic, was exactly the sort of thing I've been missing for the last couple seasons. The Google Maps shot was lol, the cold open was *easily* the best of Season 8 so far (no, no, no, no, NO, NO, NOOOOOOOO), a bit of old-school The Office cringe humor got thrown in, and the writers finally toned down Kevin's stupidity. Also, Mose. | |

10.15.11 | This marks the first time in months that I've put effort into a list. | Skweetis
10.15.11 | The kiss in Gay Witch Hunt was ad libbed by Steve. | Ignimbrite
10.15.11 | I know, and so was Dwight's almost-kiss to Oscar. | Josh D.
10.15.11 | Michael's Birthday and Email Surveillance. | Ignimbrite
10.15.11 | Birthday was classic Michael, and Email had an amazing cold open. great eps. they'd probably make it into my top 25. | foxblood
10.15.11 | garden party the best? it was funny but there wasn't really even an important plot or moment.
best have to be The Dundies, Casino Night, and Booze Cruise | Josh D.
10.15.11 | Dundies for sure. | foxblood
10.15.11 | for sure | tiesthatbind
10.15.11 | List is missing DIVERSITY DAY | Bandido
10.15.11 | New season sucks. I wish they had just finished the show off in Season 6, because it's really a shadow of its former self.
The Basketball episode in the Warehouse is my favorite. Or when Michael gives a speech in Ryan's business class | IAmHollywood
10.15.11 | yesterday's episode was really good I agree | Ignimbrite
10.15.11 | "garden party the best? it was funny but there wasn't really even an important plot or moment. best have to be The Dundies, Casino Night, and Booze Cruise"
No, it was only the best out of the 4 season 8 episodes that have aired.
And how can you say that they should have ended at season 6 when 7 was way better? | Emim
10.15.11 | I forget the name of it, but the one where Michael spoofs Survivor Man is one of my favorites.
The Injury is probably my favorite. | Ignimbrite
10.15.11 | it's called Survivor Man, and yeah, that's a great one. | Emim
10.15.11 | Huh, didn't know they actually called it that. | Bandido
10.15.11 | @Ignimbrite - I don't particularly like anything after Season 5, with the exception of a few episodes, but Season 7 was just so messy with Steve Carrell leaving, and Will Ferrel coming in and then leaving again, it was like the writers didn't know what they wanted to do with it. Also, great argument about 7 being better than 6 | PaddyPooHead
10.15.11 | The UK Office is better | KILL
10.15.11 | yup but faggots dont know | tiesthatbind
10.15.11 | I was impressed by Thursday's episode, definitely one of the best ones they've done in a while.
MISTER JIM HALPERT | Trebor.
10.15.11 | Andy has really developed as a character | PaddyPooHead
10.15.11 | US Office is still good, just not as good as the UK ;) | Trebor.
10.15.11 | Yeah | Ignimbrite
10.16.11 | I quite honestly don't care about the UK Office right now. It ended years ago, and I just made a list about the *US* Office. I'm not saying that I don't expect it at this point, but I'm tired of seeing every discussion about the show permeated with "UK Office is so much better" or "US version sucks" when it's not even relevant to the topic at hand.

And @ Bandido, I agree that S7 was very uneven, but it made up for it imo with a few absolutely incredible episodes. | auberginedreams
10.16.11 | casino night is obviously the best. | Emim
10.16.11 | UK OFFICE IS OBVIOUSLY BETTER BECAUSE FEWER PEOPLE HAVE SEEN IT AND COULD DISPUTE THE FACTS | Winesburgohio
10.16.11 | lol rabid US-office fanboys.
The UK office is funnier, and didn't outstay it's welcome for three fucking seasons. People who whinge about people who have no qualms in preferring the UK office are kinda pathetic. If I prefer the UK office and want to encourage others to experience the ball-busting hilarity of it then why the fuck shouldn't I say so?
That's not to say I don't like the US version - I think it strikes the perfect hilarious/poignant balance, and it's a lot more emotionally warm and easier to watch. I can totally understand why people would prefer it.
Also yeah Casino Night is the besttttttttt
| Ignimbrite
10.16.11 | "lol rabid US-office fanboys."
I'd like to make it clear that I'm not a rabid US fanboy. I love both versions to death, and they both have their merits. My point was just that the whole "UK is better" thing that pops up in seemingly every conversation can get very annoying. | Josh D.
10.16.11 | s b | Emim
10.16.11 | whinge | Winesburgohio
10.16.11 | Ha, sorry man that came out way more aggressive that i intended, UK purists annoy me too, especially because most of them haven't bothered to explore the US version.
I'm just saying that people who side wholeheartedly with either the UK or the US version come off as insufferable and close-minded. They're both great shows, surely it's not that hard to garner an appreciation of them both | Ignimbrite
10.16.11 | Hey, no problem. You're pretty much spot-on with that. | sublimefan1991
10.16.11 | quite clearly you know your office, and, yes, the "why are you the way you are?" rant is one of the most lol-inducing moments ever. list is great, but 1 episode i def think should've made the cut is product recall. that shit's hilarious and has one of my fav creed lines ever - "Every week, I'm supposed to take four hours and do a quality spot-check at the paper mill. And of course the one year I blow it off, this happens." plus, michael's f-word threat, i shit my pants every time. | Ignimbrite

10.16.11 | the one with the TLM script was The Client. | FromDaHood
10.16.11 | Oh, I totally forgot about Scott's Tots, that one's classic | Ignimbrite
