The Office:Top 10 Episodes

Season 8 is going much better than I expected. 2-11 are my top 10 episodes of The Office in no real order, and 13-16 are the 4 Season 8 episodes that have aired so far, from worst to best.
1 The Office
Top 10

as of first list edit, these are in no particular order.
2Ophis
Withered Shades

Safety Training - This episode may be completely unmatched for pure lols-per-minute. There's really nothing much more to say here, except that "You Braveheart, man. You Braveheart." The best episode of the best season of The Office.
3Nader Sadek
In the Flesh

The Job - In my opinion, this edges out Casino Night as the best season finale of The Office. Jan goes insane, Dwight takes over the office for a day (not as good as the S7 ep entirely devoted to him doing that, but still hilarious), and the Jim/Pam moment at the end is one of the best in the series. Also, Ryan's close was the perfect setup for Season 4.
4Lantlos
Agape

The Injury - There is nothing to say here except that this episode is everything great about Steve Carrell's character condensed into 21 minutes.
5Carbonized
For the Security

The Duel - As far as pure plot, this is one of the best episodes in the entire series. They'd been building up to this ever since the Season 4 finale, and it paid off in spades. The Prius thing was lol, and the way Andy and Dwight both saw eye-to-eye at the end of the episode was great. Angela is basically the Devil.
6Anberlin
Cities

Goodbye, Michael - The most perfect exit anyone could have hoped for. The writers did an amazing job at making this one of the series' most touching episodes while totally avoiding the sappiness that could have easily been present here. Michael's moments with Jim, Pam, and Dwight are nothing short of amazing, and his final "That's what she said" is perfect. There also seems to be another Toby in Boulder. Sorry, Mike. There are 2 of them.
7Modern Life Is War
Witness

Niagara - If you didn't like this episode, you have no soul. Plan C/B/A, omg
8Rishloo
Feathergun

Dinner Party - It is so hard to sit through this episode, and I mean that in the best way possible. Cringe humor at its most awesome. Also, this ep has one of Michael's best "That's what she said" moments of all time.
9East of the Wall
Split

Gay Witch Hunt - The kiss scene may be the most hilariously awkward thing this show has ever dreamed up: the fact that that whole thing was unscripted/improv makes it all the more amazing.
10Ash Borer
Ash Borer

Casino Night - There are a lot of things this episode does extremely well, but... "Why are you the way that you are? Honestly, every time I try and do something *fun,* or *exciting,* you make it... not... that way. I hate... So much, about the things you choose to be." My favorite line from any TV show or movie. Ever.
1140 Watt Sun
The Inside Room

Goodbye, Toby - The entire exit interview is so damn perfect... There aren't many times in this series when I've laughed harder. I live for Michael vs Toby moments.
12 The Office
Season 8

the 4 episodes aired as of 10/14/2011, ranked from worst to best.
13Tangled Thoughts of Leaving
Deaden the Fields

Worst: Lotto. While this was strong in the area of character development (Andy reprimanding Darryl may have been one of the best moments of the past couple seasons), the writers did not put many laughs into an episode whose premise could have easily made for an absolutely hilarious 21 minutes (however, the one good joke had me laughing out loud. Senor Loadenstein, porque es muy rapido). Also, Jim's stupidity was uncharacteristic, and Kevin is getting so overused.
14Black Sheep Wall
I Am God Songs

3rd: The List. It has a disappointingly low number of funny moments (especially for a season premiere), Stanley's "shove it up your butt" thing was stupid and completely out of character, and Pam's crying was annoying. That being said, it did a great job at setting up Andy as manager, and it also had some good scenes with James Spader. "The List" was also a great ensemble episode.
15Nails
Unsilent Death

2nd: The Incentive. Maybe the most Andy-centric of the 4 season 8 eps that have aired so far, this one's very linear, character-based plot was different from the premeire in a lot of ways. It was great to see everyone turn the office into a productivity machine, and Andy's following through with the tattoo did a good job at differentiating him from Michael, who would never have actually gone through with anything like that. Also, Stanley's "Unleash the power of the pyramid!" was hilarious.
16Nembrionic
Psycho One Hundred

Best: Garden Party. This was without a doubt one of the funniest episodes of The Office that I've seen in quite a while. Andy's family dynamics made me really feel for the guy, and I'm also really happy that the writers didn't cop out and give him and his dad an "Oh I'm proud of you for who you are cuz you're my son n stuff" moment. They went through with his parents being jackasses, and that made the moment at the end with the rest of the office mean a lot more (the moment in question was great in its balance: it was emotional, but the writers showed major restraint and didn't make it super sappy and drawn out). Jim's prank on Dwight, while it may have been unrealistic, was exactly the sort of thing I've been missing for the last couple seasons. The Google Maps shot was lol, the cold open was *easily* the best of Season 8 so far (no, no, no, no, NO, NO, NOOOOOOOO), a bit of old-school The Office cringe humor got thrown in, and the writers finally toned down Kevin's stupidity. Also, Mose.
