In this age of easy, almost instant access to everything, there is little incentive to buy when all the songs will be placed on youtube or other sites if you don't want to illegally download. If you do want to illegally download, there are lossess rips of most albums, so the quality argument is invalid. |

I don't think that physical copies are objectively better or that people should choose them over digital files, but it would be sad to see them disappear completely. Vinyl sales are actually doing pretty well, though.
Digital really does have a lot of perks, it makes it easier for artists to distribute their work and saves resources. At least you own digital files, unlike streaming, which seems like a horrible idea to me. |
