DaisyHill's Top 11 Of 2011
I Never realy find everyone elses top releases that astonishing, so here are my picks for the top 11 albums of 2011 |
1 | | The Wonder Years Suburbia: I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing
It's the wonder years, but with more mature songwriting and lyrics that are just as potent and hard hitting as ever. |
2 | | Deaf Havana Fools And Worthless Liars
With the loss of vocalist Ryan, the bands first effort as a four piece is an amazing view of the world through the eyes of a bitter, cynical 20 something. |
3 | | Defeater Empty Days And Sleepless Nights
Alot of people seemed to dislike this but to me it topped travels, it has a constant driving rhythem to the whole album and as a whole feels more cohesive and memorable to me. |
4 | | Funeral For A Friend Welcome Home Armageddon
The Band Finaly picked back up where they left off with hours and it makes for in my oppinion their best release yet. |
5 | | Cunninlynguists Oneirology
The Production on this album is a legue above every other album in the genre this year or possibly ever, the lyrics and flow of the record create an atmosphere like no other. |
6 | | Departures When Losing Everything Is Everything You Wanted
Hard hitting, fast and relentless hardcore done right, whats not to love. |
7 | | Crucial Dudes 61 Penn
Im a sucker for pop punk but i fall in love with albums like this one, focoused, driven and emotional. |
8 | | City And Colour Little Hell
I acctually refused to listen to this for a while due to the resulting break up of alexisonfire however im glad that i did, this is Dallas Green at his best and most intimate. |
9 | | Dance Gavin Dance Downtown Battle Mountain II
I didnt like this at first and it took a few good listens on the bus to college to acctualy click, but when it did wow what an album. Mess gets his chance to shie at so many points on the album, infact each instument gets a chance in the spotlight and the vocals are so well balanced between Mess' harsh delivery and Craigs soaring cleans. All this from a band that was all but finished a year ago. |
10 | | Yellowcard When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes
This album is everything yellowcard could and should be, start to finish each track can stand on its own and work as part of a cohesive album, and just listen to Be The Young. |
11 | | Frank Turner England Keep My Bones
i cant even think of what to say about this album except "hey, its frank turner and its excellent. |
