My Top 12 Albums Of 2012

The Albums that i got the most enjoyment out of this year, any recs would rbe appreciated as i rrfeel like i missed a lot of good stuff
1Deaf Havana
Fools And Worthless Liars (Deluxe Edition)

Yes this may seem as cheating due to the fact that it is a reissue of the album from
2011, however every single song is reworked in such varying styles, from the Irish
Folk influenced Opener "The Past Six Years" to the Piano Ballad of "Anemophobia"
and even the surprising electronic influence in "The World Or Nothing" each song is
unique and the stripped down versions often have little to absolutely no vocal editing,
showcasing James Veck-Gilodie's truly superb vocals. To further this, the original
album that this is packaged with is still as strong and fresh sounding as ever. In all
This is a stellar album and makes you wonder just what this band will be capable of
with album 3.
2Senses Fail
Follow Your Bliss EP

This EP consisting of only four songs contains some of the most heartfelt, energised
and driven performances the band have ever given, every member shines (including
the new members) and Buddy Neilsen's lyrics are at their most beautiful and potent,
and the track "War Paint" is quite possibly the best song the band has ever written.
3Pierce The Veil
collide With The Sky

I dont actually have that much to say about this album except that its excellent, its Pierce The Veil but improved upon tenfold.
4While She Sleeps
This Is The Six

Simply put, this is just an amazing metallic Hardcore record and is well worth your time and money

This isn't the "Cities Pt.2" that fans have been screaming for all these years, it is however better than that in many ways,
Anberlin carry on down the path of maturing their songwriting, creating a varied album that could top Cities with repeated
Failed States

This could quite possibly be the groups best effort in years and that is saying something, and what a way to open an album
"Note to Self" is.
Every Day I Tell Myself...

This is just simply pop punk with a lighter twist, each song is great and the album works well as a whole as well as single
songs, i don't have much to say.
8The Gaslight Anthem

This band have always been a personal favourite, and while their new direction doesn't quite top "The 59' Sound" they are
becoming ever closer to equaling it.
9The Chariot
One Wing

Chaotic. That one one describes this album perfectly, the chariot continue down their path of finally putting their talent to good
use and proving that they do have what it takes and that they can keep releasing outstanding albums after years of
mediocrity. In short, this is potential fully realised.
All Or Nothing

With the departure of founding member/ punk legend/ frontman Jim Lindberg the band seemed to be at a loss, after years of
just average releases a new vocalist seemed to bring back all the energy that has been missing, culminating in their most
heartfelt and dare i say emotional release in years, it just bugs me as to why they brought back Jim after this album was so
11Neil Young
Psychedelic Pill

I'm not sure what amazes me more, the fact that this album exists or the fact that it stands up as one of the best albums that
he has ever made.
Southern Air

After a triumphant return with possibly their best album yet "When Your'e Though Thinking Say Yes" to me Yellowcard seemed
to hit a slump when i first heard this album, however with repeated listens it is actually a damn good album, it is most definitely
a grower that wants you to listen to it repeatedly and slowly draws you in and makes you love it.
