10.15.11 | Nice. I can't disagree with anything here. Great stuff. The Matrix and the original Star Wars trilogy would be mine. Would Total Recall fit this description? Not sure what else I'd add.
|
Fugue

10.15.11 | Yep Besson's The Fifth Element is one of my fav sci-fi |
jefflebowski
10.15.11 | District 13 is great too, even though he didn't direct it (wrote and produced it though) |
Wolfhorde
10.15.11 | I'm not quite sure what your point on "entertainment" is since the sense of movie/TV generally is entertainment. |
DominionMM1
10.15.11 | 13 ftw! Also, Commando and Raw Deal slay for days. |
Acanthus
10.15.11 | Some great films here, I like/love a lot of these.

TheNotrap
10.15.11 | @Wolfhorde
Entertainment as something that amuses..pleases...I excluded drama here.
@mutatedfreek
I'm not a die hard fan of Bad Boys...If you're talking about a good action/police movie I immediately think in DIE HARD, with Bruce Willis. An amazing movie with one of the best villains ever created: Hans Gruber
YIPPEE KI YAY MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!
|
Fugue
10.15.11 | Fair play, though Die Hard with a Vengance was always my favorite Die Hard film, Sammie L Jack and Bruce Willis? Fucking Awesome. |
Valerius
10.15.11 | Excellent list, man. A lot of these movies are in my 11-20 list. The Matrix, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Aliens, The Terminator, Star Wars, and The Lord of the Rings
|
Valerius
10.15.11 | And yeah, Commando is in a league of its own. I have trouble rating it. I mean on one hand it's the best movie ever made, but in other areas it lacks.
It's basically lets take Arnold and have him spit classic one-liners throughout the movie will shooting and hacking 100 people to death in god-mode with auto-aim and unlimited ammo. |
clercqie
10.15.11 | Ah this list breathes nostalgia! :D |
PistolPete
10.15.11 | dark knight - truck flipping over, i've never stood up in excitement in a theatre before until that scene |
clercqie
10.15.11 | ^ really? The scene where the Joker kills that fake batman and lets Gotham know he wants the real one is the best one from that movie.
That message gives me soo many chills! |
PistolPete
10.15.11 | whole dark knight movie is amazing...nuff said, i just thought the truck flip was hilarious.
"He missed..."
no he didn't, get some |
Trebor.
10.15.11 | They actually flipped that truck too
No pussy special effects |
TheNotrap
10.15.11 | Yes the The Dark Knight is definitely a great movie. I also like the previous Batman Begins and Tim Burton's Batman and Batman Returns. Michelle Pfeiffer's role of catwoman is memorable (also her dark latex costume). |
TheNotrap
10.15.11 | @Valerius
Thanks man
By the way what's your favourite movies (top 5 or 10)? |
DominionMM1
10.15.11 | "And yeah, Commando is in a league of its own. I have trouble rating it. I mean on one hand it's the best movie ever made, but in other areas it lacks. That's what makes it so great. And it's an action movie that never takes itself very seriously. It's very tongue-in-cheek. |
Valerius
10.15.11 | It's on a list on my profile, but to save you time, my favorite 5, in order, are Excalibur, Conan the Barbarian, Braveheart, Predator, and Where Eagles Dare. I don't rate movies by how critically acclaimed they are. I rate by my own replay factor. Those 5 movies I've seen and enjoyed hundreds of times without skipping and don't ever get tired of them. |
Ovrot
10.15.11 | i like your breastess |
TheNotrap
10.15.11 | Conan the Barbarian is memorable. Filled with epic scenes like Conan's barbaric fights in the pit. In my top 30
Excalibur: I believe I never saw that one
Braveheart: Epic Epic Epic Epic Epic Epic
Where Eagles Dare: Classic stuff
I noticed you have Dune among your favourites. Amazing movie....never get tired of that one. Great script.
Still remember the day I saw it on cinema...those worms gave me the chills |
TheNotrap
10.15.11 | And yes....Gotta love Commando
That unlimited ammo is memorable
First Schwarzenegger I saw |
Valerius
10.15.11 | Judging by your taste, man, you absolutely need to see Excalibur. It's got incredible music by Trevor Jones, Richard Wagner, and Carl Orff.
I have yet to see a movie with better plate armor in it. Epic is used a lot, but this movie really is epic. It's a lot of peoples favorite movie of all time because it captures a lot of elements in it perfectly like honor, truth, friendship, marriage, betrayal, sin, redemption, atonement, hope, romance, brutality, and courage.
The star of the movie: Excalibur. This intelligent, lawful good weapon ego-whips the shit out of anyone in the movie that touches it. |
TheNotrap
10.15.11 | well...seems like a really epic movie. I will definitely check it out one of these days.
Just checked in IMDb. Great cast: Helen Mirren, Gabriel Byrne, Liam Neeson, Patrick Stewart....
Wonder why I never saw it before... |
Valerius
10.15.11 | Yeah, lol, I was gonna say, keep your eyes open for a very young Patrick Stewart, Nigel Terry, Liam Neeson, Nicol Willamson, Helen Mirren. Excellent cast, excellent acting. |
Valerius
10.15.11 | "When a man lies, he murders some part of the world." from To Live is To Die by Metallica is pulled from this movie. |
Trebor.
10.15.11 | Lethal Weapons 1 and 2 m/ |
rockandmetaljunkie
10.15.11 | Die hard 1,2,3
Batman (1989)
Big Lebowski
Fight Club
Pulp Fiction
Bad Boys 1 was decent but the sequel was unacceptable. |
TheNotrap
10.15.11 | @Valerius
Really? We learn every day...
@Trebor
Definitely. Those 2 characters are memorable.
@andcas
Point Break yeahhh...I believe it was the first Keanu Reeves movie I saw (this or Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey)
@Rock
Great top five man
Die hard 1,2,3
The first Die Hard is in my top 20, no doubt. Like I said above Hans Gruber is one of the best villains ever created.
I also like the sequel but the first still remains my fav
Batman (1989)
Great movie....great Joker...great gothic deco
Big Lebowski
Huge performance by Jeff Bridges
Fight Club
Great "psico" movie. Best Edward Norton's performance so far IMO
Pulp Fiction
The scene with Travolta dancing is memorable... |
fulgrim
10.15.11 | Star Wars 4-6 are just the best films ever imo. |
Trebor.
10.15.11 | Just say the star wars trilogy because they are the only ones that exist |
fulgrim
10.15.11 | Yeah. They should have made episodes 7-9 instead with Grand Admiral Thrawn and Mara Jade, that would have been so much better than a film with fuckin Jar Jar Binks in it. |
TheNotrap
10.16.11 | Yes...The Star Wars trilogy is really unique.
I also like the last/first 3 but they are miles away from the original trilogy.
Jar Jar Binks is probably the worst SW character and please....Hayden Christensen can't be Darth Vader. |
