Top 10 Final Girls
Slaughter in the Vatican

Alice Hardy – (Friday the 13th) – I gotta be honest, I’m only really including her because she is in a legendary movie but she is not all that remarkable and largely forgettable. Props to the director of Part 2 for that shocking opening scene, though.
Consuming Impulse

Sally Hardesty – (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) – Good God, this woman can run. She wasn’t really put in a position where she could do much to fight back, but she would be #1 on the track team. Also, she is going to need several centuries of therapy after the shit she went through.
8Morbid Angel
Altars of Madness

Kristy – (Hellraiser) – She’s pretty hip. A capable final girl, but not as awesome as the top 7 imo.
7Morbid Saint
Spectrum of Death

Sarah Carter – (The Descent) – Survival of the fittest! This is another character who has been through so much that she deserves a mountain of ice scream and free 4 hour massage sessions for the rest of her life. Even with all of that, she still has enough energy to kick major ass.
6Demolition Hammer
Epidemic of Violence

Mia Allen – (Evil Dead remake) Both villain and hero in one movie! This is a strange one because she is a deadite for a great majority of the film, but damn is she a terrifying one. Also, ripping off her own hand and still being able to chainsaw-face her villain to death. Great job, Mia! Evil Dead 2 please and thank you.
No More Color

Laurie Strode – (Halloween) – This might be controversial putting her this low on the list, but it’s not because I don’t love her character, it’s just because the other 4 are just THAT badass. One of the original scream queens, Laurie Strode is a smart and together character who gives our immortal murderer a really tough time, which is quite an accomplishment. Let’s just pretend Resurrection never happened.
Beneath the Remains

Sidney Prescott – (Scream) – If you try to kill this woman, you are a straight up moron. Four movies of her kicking the living shit out of serial killers, and you people still go after her? What the fuck is wrong with you?
Ride the Lightning

Nancy Thompson – (A Nightmare on Elm Street) – My first love. Nancy started fighting back in horror movies before fighting back in horror movies was cool. She also home aloned the shit out of her villain before Home Alone was even released. Props to her for refusing to die and for coming back in 3 to help a new generation of badasses.
Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?

Sarah Conner – (The Terminator) – Now I know there will be some that have a problem with this choice because Terminator is largely an action franchise, but the first movie also acts as a slasher film and treats her like a final girl. She probably has the most intense transformation out of anyone on this list, going from a soft spoken, sweet small town waitress to a machine fighting, no fucks given warrior. She is basically tied for #1 and there is no reason why she is less than Ripley imo, but I had to put one of them at the top!
Hell Awaits

Ellen Ripley – (Alien) – The ultimate badass! She is mature, calm, and collected in the most stressful situations imaginable. She is also always the most intelligent person in the room and is a woman that you do not want to fuck with. That mecha battle in Aliens cemented her in cinema history as one of the most ultimate badasses in cinema.
