my top 50 movies

along with some of my favorite albums.
Complete Best

Tropic Thunder (2008)

The most modern movie on this list. I sometimes don't like modern movies. I hate cgi with a passion compared to practical effects and makeup, I don't like superhero films, usually don't like remakes, or pandering politically correct stale safe crap, so there's not much out there I've had any interest in the past 10 years. This is a stupid movie, but god damn if it isn't one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Downey absolutely kills it, Cruise as well.

Predator (1987)

My most watched movie, perfect action.
12Vanilla Ice

Beauty and the Beast (1946)

The best version of Beauty and the Beast, the visuals were so ahead of their time they are absolutely awe inspiring. The beast looks so awesome, this is a haunting and beautiful movie.
11Sabbat (JPN)
The Dwelling

Harvey (1950)

A lot of fun, Stewart allows the audience to really connect with the movie by getting them to use their imagination to see things as he sees them with his invisible giant rabbit friend Harvey.
10Roxx Gang
Love 'Em And Leave 'Em

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939)

The most heartwarming and charming movie ever, Stewart is so genuine and good it hurts.

The Terminator (1984)

I've grown to prefer the first film in the series over the years. I love the aesthetics, like the tech noir club shooting scene.
The Unseen

Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)

Lightning struck with this movie in a way that may never happen again with another movie in the future of cinema.
7Mort Garson

It Happened One Night (1934)

The original screw-ball comedy with Clark Gable funnier than ever.
6Kaleidoscope (UK)
Tangerine Dream

North by Northwest (1959)

My favorite Hitchcock movie, this is Grant's defining role I think. This has some of the most memorable scenes in any movie.
5Elvis Presley
A Date With Elvis

The Philadelphia Story (1940)

This is probably the best cast in any movie and they all bring their A game.
Servants of Sorcery

Bringing Up Baby (1938)

Just barely gets beat by Arsenic, this has some of the best one-on-one relationship comedy and dialogue. Hepburn is amazing and had such a strong style and charisma.
3Louis and Bebe Barron
Forbidden Planet Soundtrack

Forbidden Planet (1956)

Perhaps the best and most important sci-fi movie ever made. The visuals are just perfect, and the soundtrack is iconic too.
M.A.N. (Military Affairs Neurotic)

Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)

The most enjoyable comedic acting in a movie for me, this is like a stage play translated to the screen. All the characters are so lovable and well done. Great dialogue and acting.
1Tom Dissevelt and Kid Baltan
Song Of The Second Moon

Barbarella (1968)

Everyone I know always questions why in the world this is my favorite movie. There are many reasons, but in the end I just find it the most enjoyable. This is like the 60's precursor to Star Wars. I love camp and this propels camp to something beyond any other movie. Everything is so surreal and confounding. The design and visuals are so quintessentially 60's, I love the shag carpet in her ship. Jane Fonda is great too;)
