| Rage Of The Month: June 2011
The best Metal albums that came out in June 2011. | 5 | | August Burns Red Leveler
With Leveler, August Burns Red stays true to their sound while remaining
fresh. The twelve tracks contain new dynamics and elements that are sure
to please old and new fans alike, while Jake Luhrs' performance places him
to the very top of best vocalists within the genre. The band continuously
aims for the jugular throughout the album, leaving you much like the
destroyed habitat depicted on the cover. / Rating : 3.5 | 4 | | Tombs Path Of Totality
While Path of Totality is not really groundbreaking, it is a really good and
solid record with lots of replay value. The album has a surprising amount of
dynamics and a very raw atmosphere that fits the music perfectly. / Rating:
3.5 | 3 | | Today I Caught The Plague Lore
The production is perfect, and the musicianship is brilliant and impressive.
That being said, I will certainly continue to listen to this album, and I
wouldn't be surprised if it eventually grows on me as I'm able to absorb
more and more details of this very complex output. / Rating: 4 | 2 | | Arch Enemy Khaos Legions
The lyrical content is the same, Angela's voice didn't change a bit, the
drumming and the song structures are still very similar to their past work.
However, I have to say this is their second best album to date. All the riffs
are new and enjoyable , the guitar melodies and solos are the best i've
heard from this band since Wages Of Sin, making this a fucking great
guitarfest throughout. / Rating: 4 | 1 | | Draconian A Rose For The Apocalypse
The use of keyboards, strings and flutes in addition to the heavy guitars
and crushing drums create the perfect musical backdrop for the incredible
vocalists in this band. Also, the increased use of the dual vocal lines, a
great atmosphere, faster songs and emotionally charged lyrics make this
the best Metal album of June. / Rating: 4 | |
