ECM jazz **in THIS economy**????

Thoughts/favs/recs/burps? Not a strand of jazz I've explored particularly deeply or that I care for in its entirety, *but* the top 10% or so has me asking all sorts of questions. The genre's dual capacity for utter tedium and breathlessly exotic atmospheres is I guess an intrigue and and of itself. List is my top 5 at the time of posting.
1Keith Jarrett
The Survivor's Suite

GOAT

There are two ECMs for me, namely:
1) jazz's incense-compatible correlate to New Age, full of suspenseful intervals, delicate arrangements and rich mystique, and
2) a deadeningly consonant soundtrack to living room tedium that is ig synonymous with the boring side of Scandi jazz.

Don't think I could find another record that spotlights everything attractive about the former camp (even if it comes with moments of overlap of ye olde experimental + free jazz) and entirely shirks the latter
2Marilyn Mazur
All the Birds: Reflecting / Adventurous

Mainly here for disc 1, but jfc the keepers there are impeccable
3Ralph Towner
Solstice

Now *this* is good jazz guitar. Gorgeous 12-string mastery, some amazing moments here. Not an amplifier in sight and all the better for it
4Jan Garbarek - Bobo Stenson Quartet
Witchi-Tai-To

Unfortunate sax tone, otherwise glorious record
5Kenny Wheeler
Gnu High

New discovery, incredibly classy performances from Wheeler (trumpet) and Keith Jarrett here, will be returning soon and often
