05.25.19 | Scottish Labour hasn't been in the best place for around five years, while Ruth Davidson has largely detoxified the tory reputation for a lot of scots (and while I wouldn't vote blue, she has been exactly what the party as a whole needed) - tories currently the second biggest party in Holyrood with a solid lead on Lab. SNP is still the most popular party in Scotland, but their record in government has been patchy at best, Scottish remainers are sick of Sturgeon appropriating the anti-Brexit agenda as a proxy to independence, and since the SNP no longer have a majority in Holyrood, they are less able to promote independence in terms of actual policy, which to me is a sign that their support is only going to slip further unless circumstances change |

Boris for pm = tory membership dish out the champagne while parliament deadlock intensifies, followed by one of two things:
1 - gvmt filibusters parliament until the current brexit deadline and we get the default no-deal
2 - general election, Tories pander to the Brexit Party to avoid losing their core vote, at which point a handful of incumbent MPs quit, no party comes out with a majority, no sustainable coalitions, national unity government formed and thanks to Corbyn's stance we likely end up on no-deal anyway |
