Opeth Albums Ranked (pre-heritage)

Since I'm going to see them in December, I decided to rank their albums.
9Opeth
Damnation

This album is not last because it has no growls or being "one dimensional"
or anything like that, I rank it the lowest because it is fairly standard
Progressive Rock. All the songs are good (some better), but it's very much a
homage to 70's prog, and I kinda feel like they played it safe by having
"standard" songs. I still love this album, but I'm more excited about
Heritage, I'm all for Opeth bringing in weirdness to their music. Favorite
song: Weakness
8Opeth
Morningrise

I really like this album as well, very dark atmosphere, the cover of the
album suits the music. Favorite song: The Night and the Silent Water
7Opeth
Orchid

Despite what many people say about Opeth's first two albums, I love them.
Orchid a bit more, it has so many songs that I would rank high, and it's a
fantastic debut album, even though the production could have been slightly
better. Favorite song: In Mist She Was Standing
6Opeth
Watershed

I love that Opeth decided to try new things with this album, because even
though I love their music, it can get repetitive. Most of the songs on this
album are really good, but it doesn't have (IMO) a CLASSIC, a song that I'll
be screaming for in 10 years. Favorite song: Burden
5Opeth
Blackwater Park

The beast, the album that everyone seems to love. I don't rank it as high
as many others do, but it's still a brilliant album. Favorite song: Blackwater
Park
4Opeth
My Arms, Your Hearse

Very solid effort, I feel like it was with this album that Opeth really found
their 'thing'. Favorite song: April Ethereal
3Opeth
Still Life

Timeless classic, to me it is the album that links the first three album with
the more modern, sound-wise. Favorite song: The Moor
2Opeth
Deliverance

The band's heaviest album, but also SO good. Favorite song: Deliverance
1Opeth
Ghost Reveries

Perfect mix of heavy and soft, I just love all the songs on this album.
Favorite song: Isolation Years
