| Night Time
Today has been doctors and therapists and broken self-service machines with fussy human fixers. It's just past 1am and I plan to let this all wash off; tea with a shot of whiskey included.
I made a playlist on soundcloud if you want to join me in chilling, the list is records I've queued up next to the TT for tonight. | 1 | | Bonobo Late Night Tales
Here's the playlist: https://soundcloud.com/hunterbyname/sets/late-night-again
Threw in some hip-hop, bass music, downtempo and ambient. Just recent things I've liked, really.
This is arguably the best in the Late Night Tales series. Benedict Cumberbatch is involved so you know it's at least alright. | 2 | | Burial Kindred
When it first arrived the record was too big for my turntable. I sat there for about 30 minutes sanding down the edges - ruined a good pair of jeans from all the tiny melted wax particles. | 3 | | The Cure Disintegration
Not actually my record - I was lent this by a friend. It still has a note in it from when some ex-boyfriend gave it to her for christmas. I wonder if he ever envisioned it ending up in a repurposed Sainsbury's crate in some stranger's room. | 4 | | Radiohead I Might be Wrong: Live Recordings
The live version of Like Spinning Plates is really, really beautiful. True Love Waits is one of the many fantastic Radiohead b-sides hidden around the place. | 5 | | A Winged Victory for the Sullen A Winged Victory for the Sullen
No reason needed. | 6 | | Four Tet There Is Love In You
Love Cry is one of those songs I can never actually get bored of. Off the top of my head the only other three I can think of are Freak Go Home (Darkside), Lover (Borealis) and Hypnos (Bydub & Loscil) | 7 | | Dodos Carrier
"Death what could could be worse/ if I had something to complain about."
I'm halfway through an essay on Kant's morality, humanity and its effects on the free will. The conclusion will be that the only real free choice we have is suicide. Sucks, you know? | 8 | | Boards of Canada In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country
Man was first in line for the repress. Wasn't much of a line to be honest - I turned up at 11. At least I made the effort, I don't get out in the morning much | 9 | | Actress Ghettoville
Walking back to my flat through St. Pauls: hood up, hands in pockets, absolutely fucked. People were crossing the road and shit. They didn't know the only thing going through my head was "don't stop the music" | 10 | | Failure Fantastic Planet
Only for the songs Blank, Segue 3, Space Song and The Nurse Who Loved Me because they're perfect. The rest is mostly too loud at the moment.
Gonna go make more tea. | |

02.20.14 | Good evening internet | RVAHC13
02.20.14 | Omg, 10 is amaaaaazing. And finally someone else who shares my love for Bonobo :D | StrangerofSorts
02.20.14 | I didn't realise Bonobo lovers were rare, he's very popular with students. Kind of hits that "easy to get into but also very good" spot perfectly. | anarchistfish
02.20.14 | lol everyone in bristol fucking likes bonobo | anarchistfish
02.20.14 | and clean bandit
fuck clean bandit | StrangerofSorts
02.20.14 | ahh Clean Bandit and their awful, cheesy-ass music videos. Haven't heard them mentioned in Bristol though, thankfully. Nicholas Jaar comes up a lot though. | StrangerofSorts
02.20.14 | thoughthoughthough | RVAHC13
02.20.14 | Well I don't know anyone else irl who likes him, I also haven't seen any users post about him until now but that's probably just me. Great list anyway | StrangerofSorts
02.20.14 | thanks man (: | Brostep
02.20.14 | yeah Bonobo concert I went to sold out one of the larger venues around (probably around 2000-3000 people?) and I just live in Boston, not even where he's biggest (I assume). Though he didn't sell out as fast as Disclosure so IDK | Deviant.
02.20.14 | An internationally commercially popular dance act sold out faster than an act on Ninja Tune? That's not a big surprise | InFiction
02.20.14 | Is tea and whiskey an actual thing?
Like, together?
I'm totally trying that. | StrangerofSorts
02.20.14 | Hell yeah it is, and it's bloody delicious. |
