| Cool Movies Ive Seen Recently | 1 | | John Zorn Mysterium
Antichrist by Lars Von Trier - a really creepy flick about this couple. basically the wife feels very guilty about the death of their son and her husband (willem dafoe) takes her out to these woods she likes to help her with her depression and guilt, and her fears. and thats about all thats normal about the film. basically the bitch loses her fucking mind and starts thinking all women are evil and shit. i liked it a lot because im really sick of stale horror movie plots. it a really dark, artsy film. | 2 | | TV On The Radio Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes
Melancholia by Lars Von Trier - same director as the man above, and a really similar film. less of a horror film though, but it does of kirsten dunst butt naked, losing her mind, and staring at a giant blue planet. this film is a work of art, but im not to sure how to describe it. its like "deep impact" (which is kind of gay, i know...) mixed with the film above.... | 3 | | Tom Waits The Early Years Vol. 2
Blue Valentine by Derek Cianfrance - basically an anti-romance film. ryan gosling and michelle williams star as a couple who have been married for a few years but their marriage isnt working out, and the wife is definitely not happy, and her husband just really wants everything back as it was. it shows the couple as they are in the present, and then reveals more about their relationship through flashback. its a really beautiful love story, with an unhappy ending. imo, it gives a pretty realistic picture on why love doesnt always work.. | 4 | | Daniel Johnston Fear Yourself
Kids by Larry Clarke - powerful fucking film. pretty fucked up. loved the cinematography, the acting, and just the way the whole story is presented. it has lots of dialogue, the kind that makes you feel like your in the room, and apart of everyones life. one of my all time favs. | 5 | | Violent Femmes Why Do Birds Sing?
Milk by Gus Van Sant - really good film about harvey milk, staring sean penn. pretty much any movie with sean penn is gonna be legit. | 6 | | The Stooges Im Sick of You
A Serious Man by the Coen Brothers - really weird movie. tbh i dont quite get it. maybe its cuz im not jewish. all i know is that it was awesome. i love their brand of dark humor. | |

02.21.12 | Don't call the phantom menace Star Wars please | Deviant.
02.21.12 | Melancholia was a fucking bore. I'm the first to admit that as a director Von Trier has a talent, but he writes some of the most awkward and shoddy dialogue I've ever heard. It's right up there with George Lucas killing romance in the Star Wars prequels | fuckyourneonshirt
02.21.12 | Antichrist was the shiiiiiiit. A Serious Man was my least favorite Coen brothers film. | DotEight
02.21.12 | Kids is a great movie. Just watched that the other night. |
