NorthernSkylark 07.01.15	my depression doesn't seem to discriminate. it can kick in all seasons and it isn't just vitamin c-deficiency, but i find that being active i'm often less miserable.
danielito19 07.01.15	idk if i have depression because it comes and goes, i'll have decent periods of general well-being, and lengthy periods of feeling like shit. not tied to seasons or anything really. i don't want to deal with the whole depression contest a lot of people play "Oh yeah well i'm more depressed than you etc etc" and saying i have depression always leads to that shit. so i guess i have dysthymia.

deathschool 07.01.15	I have some pretty serious ass depression. I don't mind saying so, and I don't really care if I get called out, cause I've legitimately lost years of my life because I just can't make myself feel the way I should. I'm not ashamed of it though. I've learned ways to control it slowly. Sometimes it still controls me, but I win more battles than I used to. I don't always mind it. Sometimes my depression leads to pretty great things.

someguest 07.01.15	Unfortunately as a minor (I'm assuming you are), your expectations are not set by you. As soon as you're an adult the world is your oyster. Things have a way of working out. As the Tao says we should all strive to be like water. It flows on around every obstacle.
ncguitar 07.01.15	To guys who say they have depression... ...you most likely don't. We all have ups and down; depression, on the other hand, is a HUGE emotional slope. Huge as in "I urgently wanna kill myself because I'm a worthless piece of crap" big. Emotional downs are a window of opportunity to take action, more than a time to wallow in self-pity imo. * =)

SomeSayShesNaive 07.01.15	I had depression for a long time and I once had a very serious drinking and cocaine addiction at the time that intertwined with it. My music career was failing, my girlfriend left me, my mom and dad died five months apart, and I was alone. I thought cocaine helped out, but it drained my money quickly and as soon as it wore off I reverted back to an even deeper state of insanity. I wanted to die. That was 20 years ago. I've had a marriage and a kid, sold a few albums with my band, I live in a nice home with a nice car, and I haven't sipped or snorted in 19 years.

DrMaximus 07.02.15	I've struggled with diabetes, bad social phobia, and other shi for all my life. Agreed with daniel that therapy helps, but meds don't fucking help at all at least the ones I've been put on. If anything, i feel worse on meds.
