I haven't heard the others so maybe you're right about them but I don't think Textures plagiarizes Meshuggah at all. I really don't even think they sound alike honestly.. all of their similarities are pretty superficial.
Zorak 11.04.11	I dig djent style riffing. Cloudkicker is my favorite djent. I like The Contortionist as well, they have a few djenty riffs.
xandermander 11.04.11	I actually like Textures, but when they do have their downtuned/chuggy sections they are pretty much directly ripping riffs off of Nothing. I was moreso saying I dislike the fact they use the EXACT same riffs. I somewhat enjoy Volumes and Structures debut EP too. And the Contortionist is awesome but not djent, they are their own little downtuned BTBAM-proggy-what-have-you.
Eclecticist 11.04.11	there are a couple of other good/great "djent" albums Seven - Cymatics Chimp Spanner - Discography Animals As Leaders - Animals As Leaders (obviously) Being - Arrival Paul Wardingham - Assimilate Regenerate but for the most part yes I agree, the djent genre is largely contrived
Zorak 11.04.11	yeah I know tc is djent. I just dig some of the djenty riffs they use. Such as the opening riff to flourish. But it seems every band is now jumping on this new djent bandwagon.
xandermander 11.04.11	AAL has some elements of the style, but they dabble in it moreso than immerse themselves. Same thing with Chimp Spanner.
Kubrick 11.04.11	You think so? Hm. I don't get that vibe at all honestly. Meshuggah's rhythmic style seems pretty different to me. Yeah they both like to play down-tuned, groovy, intricate rhythms but the actual sound of the grooves and the way they are incorporated into the songs are pretty different. Like I've never had flashes of Nothing while listening to anything by Textures. To each his own though :D

Relinquished 11.05.11	Textures sounded the most like DEI era Meshuggah on Polars with a added elements. no one else from what I heard came close to Meshuggah, just 7-string guitar guys on meshuggah forums chuggging in math patterns with drum machines. Animals As Leaders are good because they added theory to the music. Other than them, no one is doing it right.
