12.07.11 | Nice list, agree with you generally but I'd put ADTOE above octavarium, black clouds and train of thought. A lot of power in those songs, very catchy while remaining their most progressive in a long time :) Nice to see some love for Awake, fantastic lyrics on that... |

I can't rank the rest. But I know that you haven't even listened all of the songs from 10 and 11. I am listening to all DT songs for a looong time and I can say my favourite songs are:
Octavarium
A Change of Seasons
The Glass Prison
Six Degrees of Inner Turbulance
Metropolis Pt. 1
Under A Glass Moon
Learning to Live
Endless Sacrifise
In The Name of God
In The Presence of Enemies
The Ministry of Lost Souls
The Dance of Eternity
Strange Deja Vu
Fatal Tragedy
Beyond This Life
Home
Finally Free
The Count of Tuscany
A Nightmare to Remember
Panic Attack
Breaking All Illusions
Bridges In The Sky
Outcry
Lost Not Forgotten
Excuse me if I forget some.... The thing I wanted to mention was, it is hard to rank Dream Theater with albums... We should go under the roots. |

12.13.11 | Wasn't impressed with ADTOE. It gave nothing new unlike most of their albums, and generally became a snooze-fest after a few listens. The vocals are under-whelming, and the drum-tracking could've been a lot more, but the guitar-work and keys are fantastic as usual. They've lost their fun without Portnoy, I honestly found even Systematic Chaos somewhat enjoyable despite how lame it can get. Wasted potential, they need to bring out another decent concept album. |
