09.14.16 | When they introduced it they said it was like a test thing that they'd let people use eventually but that never happened and not really sure why that'd change now |

09.14.16 | I'm fine with my .5 increments at the moment.
Jamming 2 right now, actually. |
wwf
09.14.16 | it also means the drop down for albums would be a total pain in the ass
five times more options smh |

09.14.16 | "0.1's way too precise. I'd be changing ratings everyday."
I never thought about it like that, I already have difficulty picking the ratings now. |
minty901
09.14.16 | it would actually be easier to pick ratings with 0.1 incs (I'll call them incs) than now for me cause i wont have to spend ages trying to decide where to put it when its inbetween a 3.5 and a 4, for example. Also it helps to differentiate which of two "excellent" albums is better than the other. |
TVC15
09.14.16 | 0.1 ratings would definitely help me sort out my ratings much more thoroughly tbh
I have a hard time with ratings because so many of them can't be precise in 0.5 increments in the first place |
Snide
09.14.16 | "It's normally in the 4.0-5.0 range where I really want to break it down."
This, this so much. |
CaliggyJack
09.14.16 | Having 0.1 would make ratings so much easier for me. I hate picking between 0.5. |
minty901
09.14.16 | id like the option. staff have it and they seem to be happy with it. it certainly makes analysing a staff members ratings more interesting. How will people know that I prefer Static Prevails to Bleed American when I have them both at 4.5? Will they actually have to TALK to me? ...i dunno about that man. Give introverts like me some of those lovely 0.1 incs. |
FullOfSounds
09.14.16 | Maaan I don't know what I think about this |
smaugman
09.14.16 | oh no! no one would force me to change my ratings, but i pain myself by doing it anyway! noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo |
DoofusWainwright
09.14.16 | Introduce 0.1 increments and I'd probably spend two hours every day shifting my ratings by tiny fractions - there is such a thing as too much choice |
DoofusWainwright
09.14.16 | ...and yet I can't stop myself already getting excited at the prospect of rating my 5's between 4.8-5 |
Typhoon24
09.14.16 | .25 increments would be perfect for me
imagining jackasses arguing whether an album is a 4.8 or a 4.7 lol |
theBoneyKing
09.14.16 | Agreed with Doof here - plus people nitpick over other people's rating enough already. With 0.1 increments the fights between 3.6 and 3.7 would never end. |

09.14.16 | I want imaginary numbers
"Hmmm, is new 'tones a 4+2i or 4+2.5i"
On a more serious note, why do we only rate albums with one number, instead rating production, instrumentation quality, etc. it would be impossible to implement and no one would be thorough or qualified enough to rate every aspect of an album, but might be interesting. |
theBoneyKing
09.14.16 | "also allow the default reviews be decided by voting"

Kompys2000
09.14.16 | I think it would be cool to rate albums out of 10 instead of 5, with .5 incrementals. Just because 40 possible ratings would be too many, 9 often seems like too few, and 19 seems like a happy medium. It's pretty much just a pipe dream, but as long as we're asking for stuff...

09.14.16 | I think mx had some plans to let contribs and possibly users get 0.1 increments but then every user and his dog broke the site with 'inspect element' and started rating albums 2.375190826e^99 out of 5 and he thought you lot couldn't be trusted |

09.14.16 | 0.1 ratings would be cool, but if that's too much then maybe 0.25 ratings instead? |
minty901
09.15.16 | 0.25 wouldn't work so well as it means an extra digit would have to be added to the scores. Could be problematic for the site's formatting. |
demigod!

i remember this. was so surreal seeing mirage hold a 4777777788.8888/5889999 rating |
RadicalEd
09.15.16 | Yeah, let's not do that. It will just lead to (even more) anal retentive arguing about tiny rating increments. |

that's actually what I do. all my ratings on here are rounded off. the .5/10 ratings work perfectly for me. |
miketunneyiscool123
09.15.16 | Please let users rate in 0.1 increments! [every user here] |
Faenrir
09.15.16 | More isn't always better. I believe having 9 different ratings is enough.
You're not rating stuff by comparing it, you're rating it by how much you like it. You can like very different albums at the same level even though they can't compare.
And if you like one less or more, then rate it less or more ;) |
miketunneyiscool123
09.15.16 | @Faenrir I don't mind the idea of 0.1 increments because there are albums that I REALLY want to rate with that system like the albums that are above a 4 but below a 4.5 for example. |
minty901
09.15.16 | People who don't want it can still rate to their rounded values but it would make the site infinitely more enjoyable and usable for someone like me who struggles to find the right ratings for things with the current system. The fact that the staff can do it goes to show that they do think it's a worthwhile system. Come on guys! |
