How Does The Genre Graph Work?

A certain tool that has baffled me ever since I joined this site. How are the genres decided? Is it the number of albums rated in that genre? Or the score you rated them?rLike for instance:
1Eminem
The Marshall Mathers LP

This is rated at a 5 for me. So say this is the first album that I have rated on this site, the graph would show that hip-hop is 100 percent of it. Or maybe the graph doesn't have enough data yet to accuratly tell what my listening habits are.

I'm Not A Fan, But The Kids Like It!

A god-awful album of course, but since it's rated, will it show up on the graph now? Or is the rating to low to consider it something I would listen to? (If so, excellent job Sputnik)

Ok, now lets throw some neutrality in here. This album is rated at a three, which means that I still enjoy it from time to time. However, that dosen't mean that it's listened to a lot. Therefore, it shouldn't affect the graph that much? Right? Right? Or does it have a significant affect on the graph, merely because it's rated among three albums?

An album rated at a 4. Since the album is the same genre as Brokencyde (which is complete bullshit by the way) does it make electronica have a greater presence on the graph? Or since Brokencyde's album is rated at a well deserved 1, does Moby alone influence the electronic section of the graph? And if so, does it only share 80% of Eminem's influence because the rating is at a 4?

Now here is where things get a bit tricky. Seeing as this album is rated as a 2.5, which is pretty much the equivalent of air traveling your ears, should it even have an effect on the graph at all? Because I mean, I listen to it sometimes, when air needs to fly through my ears. Since air makes up a small portion of my actual listening, should the Alt Rock only take up a very small section of the graph? Or should it even be included at all?
