Down On Life

Started off the day waking up late and rushing to school. Then, had to sit through the most impossibly difficult calculus test ever. Giant freaking essay after that. Found out the girl I like don't like me, but rather one of my friends. Blah blah blah. Life sucks. List is some relatively unknown albums.
1Radiance
The Burning Sun

Take Necrophagist's guitarist, trow in some amazing drums and a power
metaly vocalist and you have this band. Really good debut album. Did I
mention it's one long song too? If you don't check out any other album on
this list, check out this one
2Disperse
Journey Through the Hidden Gardens

Progressive rock/metal with a bit of jazz for good measure. Makes a good, if
slightly repetitive at time, album
3Guilt Machine
On this Perfect Day

It's one of Arjen Lucassen's projects, which should say a lot to start. Here
he explorers a bit of the darker side of emotion.
4The Fall of Every Season
From Below

Doom metal in the vein of Opeth, meaning acoustic passages and sung
parts along with heavier growled seactions.
5Profane
The Day We Scorched the Sky

Not entirely sure how to describe this, but it also switches between heavy
and soft a bit. The off-beat drumming also gives it an odd vibe. It's an
interesting listen
6 Persefone
The Truth Inside the Shades

Core, the band's second and best effort yet, has been getting some
attention around here lately, but I don't see this one mentioned at all.
While it's not the quality of Core, it's pretty close.
7 Akphaezya
Anthology II: Links From the Dead Trinity

Armed with the female equivalent of Mike Patton, this band puts out great
quality avant-garde. Similar to UneXpecT in some ways, but in my opinion,
better.
8Cormorant
Metazoa

Another one I'm not really sure how to describe since I haven't listned to it
enough, but they include a lot of different styles of metal. The one thing it
lacks is focus
9Haken
Aquarius

another prog rock/metal band. They have great clean sections and when
they decide to et heavy and the singer growls, it's a very good one.
However, the heavy sections take away a bit from the songs and feel a bit
out of place.
10A Hope for Home
Realis

Better than average hardcore. The album tends to switch between heavy
and soft from song to song. This, again, leads an album that lacks a focus,
but it still a good listen
