01.17.11 | Awesome. |
DocSportello
01.17.11 | Bill Hader is very very very underrated as a cast member. |
Satellite
01.17.11 | such a good list.
personally i would've put ferrell a little higher since he essentially carried snl in the late 90s/early 2000s.

01.17.11 | dirty guido
also the entire current cast needs to die in a fire. |

01.17.11 | I'll be the first to say it, Kenan Thompson kinda sucks. |
ninjuice
01.17.11 | *hopes nobody says Andy Samberg should be anywhere near this list* |
Deviant.
01.17.11 | Modern SNL is just terrible |
Satellite
01.17.11 | yeah the show's pretty unwatchable these days. |
TomArnoldsArmpit
01.17.11 | True. Thank you for dissecting my statement for me :)
You try that Pendletons yet? |
DocSportello
01.17.11 | Only redeeming qualities of this season were the Kanye performances |
TomArnoldsArmpit
01.17.11 | That's the problem I'm having with it. I haven't even heard it be mentioned in Arizona. Shame. |
Josh D.
01.17.11 | I was never big on Carvey. |

01.17.11 | yaa Bill Heders pretty awesome he should probably be here somewhere |
SloppyMilkshake
01.17.11 | Ummm...am I the only one who noticed the glaring lack of Norm MacDonald on this list? Really?
|
ninjuice
01.17.11 | I'd put Jeopardy for Darrell Hammond - I mean, SEAN CONNERY COME ON - and The Lovers for Ferrell.
Kenan Thompson's Bill Cosby on the Celebrity Jeopardy when Ferrell came back to host was great. I dunno otherwise. |
astrel
01.17.11 | I was so scared that this was going to be a list of modern SNL actors. Good list, although Tina Fey becoming the head writer of SNL basically led to it's downfall. |
ninjuice
01.17.11 | Tina Fey rules. Mean Girls would probably have sucked if she hadn't written it. |

01.17.11 | Tom Cruise is so yummy. I'm sorry, but Jack Nicholson was hotter. Would you? Definitely! You're such a whore! |
SloppyMilkshake
01.17.11 | Norm did a lot more than just the weekly update (and in my opinion, he was the best anchor to take up the position).
Just off the top of my head is the character Stan Hooper, and his spot-on impersonations of Bob Dole, Burt Reynolds, Clint Eastwood, David Letterman, and Larry King. |
couldwinarabbit
01.17.11 | Tina Fey sucks the fun out of everything she does and wrecked the show.
Cliche as it may be Will Ferrel was hilarious. He got far more of a reaction from the cast than anyone else. |
thebhoy
01.17.11 | Will Ferrell isn't that funny, he's really one dimensional. Had some great sketches though.
Anyone else think Tracy Morgan is the worst comedian alive today? |
omnipanzer
01.17.11 | Another amusing Pit list.
I love all listed above and the cast from the short lived SCTV (a couple of which are listed above as they moved over to Saturday Night Live).
It's in the same vein so I don't think it off topic to mention. |

Chris Farley is very overrated. He was a great physical comedian, but his acting wasn't that great. I think he definitely deserves a spot on the list, just watching him move around is hilarious, but he's not in the top 10 range.
And I'll agree with everybody else. Ferrell is one dimensional, but his style is pretty hilarious. There's a reason they stuck him in everything near the end of his stay on the show, and that's because he was the only thing keeping it good. His James Lipton impersonation on the Charles Nelson Riley sketch has got to be my favorite SNL moment. |
SloppyMilkshake
01.17.11 | Oh, and I forgot about his Harry Caray sketches...God, those were great.
|
SloppyMilkshake
01.17.11 | Haha, yeah, I remember those ones. Ferrel was pretty great at keeping a straight face, I honestly think the most he slipped was smiling for a moment during the Blue Oyster Cult sketch.
Oh, and may I suggest a Top SNL Guests list next time? |
TheStefan
01.17.11 | kneedz moar Christopher Walken.
but ill forgive you because you didn't include Andy Samberg. |

01.18.11 | Joe Cocker < Funny |
TomServo
01.18.11 | "You haven't seen the sketch where he was a doctor who had lost his patients' baby? With "Dr. Poop(Tim Meadows)?"
Personally, that's my favorite sketch of his. It's just so ridiculous. |
TomServo
01.18.11 | Also, I can't believe no one has pointed out how high Joe Piscopo is on this list |
Awesomesauce

01.19.11 | I wasn't saying I disagree, I was just saying I'm surprised more people didn't complain about his placement. He's not talked about that much among SNL greats, but you're right, he and eddie murphy were the anchors of that show for a few years in the 80s. |
NigelH
01.19.11 | Will Ferrell was SNL for me as a kid, and parlayed it into a consistently funny movie career. |
Josh D.
01.19.11 | "Will Ferrell was SNL for me as a kid"
Yeah, I am glad I got to witness his career birth as a kid growing up. |
