05.08.13 | Thank you guys.
That's quite a list you got there zakalwe! I'm checking it out one by one right now! Funny, I never thought about Underworld, Boards of Canada and Pantha Du Prince that way, but it fits pretty good. And you' re right about Leftfield, Rosen Industries (or the Tyrell Corporation if you please) would be proud to play this in their elevators... |

05.08.13 | That is the exact image I get Ray.
Bladerunner, without question one of the greatest films of all time, absolutely genre defining. |
eternium
05.08.13 | It's a great film for sure. Deep as hell. |
zakalwe
05.08.13 | It always makes me laugh how Sci Fi gets written off as schoolboy nonsense but when it hits the mark Phillip K Dick, Daniel Keyes, Iain M Banks etc it just blows everything else out the water. |
evilford
05.08.13 | yeah it's funny when people write off any sci fi movie cuz they think it's dumb fanboy stuff or something like that
BR ponders more about technology and humanity than almost any other movie could
amazing movie obvs |
TenSecondsToThink
05.08.13 | The movie has a very unique and amazing atmosphere but I would never call it my favorite movie evaaaa. |
zakalwe
05.08.13 | Don't get me wrong it's slow and ponderous as fuck (which I personally love) but in terms of the images of amalgamated East and West culture, flying advertisements, the book to film adaptation and ideas of the human condition all coupled with the soundtrack nothing comes close sci fi wise or if it does its a rip off. |
evilford
05.08.13 | well, 2001 |
ShrillYell
05.08.13 | movie is in my top 5. |
RayMcCoy
05.08.13 | hey hey guys, could we concentrate on the soundtrack-problem again?
Seriously: I´m with zak. By the way it's the only Sci-Fi Movie in my Top 10 or even 20. The rest is more like Lars von Trier, Jarmusch and Fellini kind of stuff. But no other movie has this perfect combination of dark mood, futuristic art stil, philosophic background AND(which brings me back to my first point) awesome soundtrack |
TenSecondsToThink
05.08.13 | Yeah, maybe I just don't get Sci-Fi because I would say the same thing about 2001. These movies have their highlight in every single second rather than in a specific plot twist or something but I guess I need that. |
sspedding
05.08.13 | you mean Brad Friedel. |

05.08.13 | Is this about football now? ...boy, how did this get so far away from my primal intention? |

05.08.13 | lolol |
Katechon
05.08.13 | Ghost in the Shell is basically the anime version of Blade Runner so check that out if you haven't seen it. Also, the Sega CD videogame Snatcher has a story which is pretty Blade Runner-esque. |
Trebor.
05.08.13 | Best movie ever made |
RayMcCoy
05.08.13 | Do you know the 90s adventure-stil Blade Runner PC Game (hence my name)? They took the soundtrack and animated some of the original settings. Not the PS 3 graphic standard but pretty cool if you ever wanted to walk around in the movie. The story is good either. |
zakalwe
05.08.13 | Westwood Studios, multiple endings, atmospheric as it gets. All time.classic! Apart from the killing
the giant rats in the sewer bug. |
Acanthus
05.08.13 | The film is cool, just not one that I often find myself wanting to watch. |
dammets
05.10.13 | Anyone play Gemini Rue? That has a blade runner feel to it. |
