zaruyache 03.26.17	They sort of introduced the emotional weight his actions from ep 2 had, but then just kind of dismissed them in the second half and made it business as usual. I really thought it was going to go a different way, but it then it just didn't. It was still pretty good, though (first half was great), and seeing him knock someone's head around was cool.
SandwichBubble 03.26.17	I felt that it was handled well for a 10-episode sort of deal. I'd discuss it more, but I can't without spoiling it. Also, I've caught a few animation errors while rewatching, which sucks, but is understandable. Next episode seems to be a less plot-heavy episode, so excited for a bit more Samurai Jack comedy-stylings.

I don't think that's true at all. Obviously he was tormented by killing that girl but then he recalled that lesson from his father. Their choices had led them into a mortal conflict that they couldn't back down from. There was no way to resolve the situation peacefully and so he had to kill them. I was surprised that the one girl didn't go on to play a bigger role haha. I thought she would do more than just die.

Kompys2000 03.31.17	Shit, I'm late to the party! Stoked to see the new Samurai Jack being discussed on Sput, all 3 eps so far have been great, ep2 in particular is GOLDEN. @Sandwich yeah, if Jack survives the fall (which, duh) then I'm guessing Ashi survives as well.
Rowan5215 04.05.17	finally got caught up, ep 2 is one of the best TV events this year tbh and the other two are almost as good seasons three and four of the original run are dope as fuck - I'm sad Shinobi vs. Samurai hasn't been mentioned itt yet

Rowan5215 04.10.17	yeah it was classic Jack in that it was clearly a Genndy ep - beautiful animation, minimal story, adventure-type genre. which is fine but it was so out of place after the first three eps and (I'm hoping) the following six that it was just kinda egregious. also the dialogue was pretty weak and the voice actor for Ashi is kinda getting on my nerves a lot. and the Jack-talks-to-himself scene was so clearly shoehorned this week to fit in with the previous three. like a 6/10 overall

ZippaThaRippa 04.10.17	Personally I thought the light dialogue and imaginative environments were a nice change for the relative grimness of the last two episodes. It wouldn't be Jack without a bit of a soft touch. For obvious reasons, this reminded me of the Dragon episode from seasons past. A nice homage to one of the series' greatest episodes.
VaxXi 04.10.17	voice acting, especially for tv, is a very small industry that is the hardest field of work to break into for the entertainment industry. you would be shocked how many characters you know are voiced by around the same 10-12 people. Tara Strong is an example of someone who gets casted for everything.

Kinda just hoping he somehow either gets his sword back or defeats his personal demons, then ends with his having a renewed sense of direction and implies he can probably go work toward beating Aku again. I think Tartakovsky said there'd be room for potentially more episodes, so giving it a final final ending doesn't seem that likely. [i know the episode synopses are out but I refuse to look at them.]

zaruyache 04.30.17	the transitions were pretty abrupt and awkward this episode. I get that they only have 22 minutes to fill, but still. It was like Evil Jack appears, BAM laser eyes kill Evil Jack BAM visions of gods BAM new clothes WOOSH sword BAM back to the present. During that whole sequence if felt like there was no room to breathe at all. Also how come Ashi is now suddenly OP af but has difficulty taking on her mother? :\| Comedic effect be damned, that's some wonky continuity.
Rowan5215 04.30.17	tbh Evil Jack's appearance and disappearance was perfectly handled to me, much much better than his literal 30 second 'hey this is still a thing' appearance in episode four anyway. Jack w/ blazing eyes was dope af only bit I agree was rushed was the gods giving Jack his sword and robe back, that's such a huge moment but it happened so damn quickly, like give it a minute to sink in at least Ashi's mother has been training to kill Jack literally her whole life plus there's the psychological damage of fighting your own mother so of course that had to be the harder battle. it would've been totally dumb to do that any other way.

And how she just goes "Oh" and zaps them back in time really quickly seemed pretty rushed, and Jack's final Aku fight was pretty anticlimactic. Didn't seem like that great of an ep. The ending sequence I really liked, though.
