10.21.12 | I prefer Ulver, but I still love Agalloch |

10.21.12 | I listen to Agalloch more, but 1 is better than anything Agalloch has done. Not by much though. |
mifzal
10.21.12 | lets all agree that ulver was more successful in creating the right atmosphere! |
YoYoMancuso
10.21.12 | I've been listening to Agalloch forever, but i just recently started listening to Ulver. Bergtatt is easily my favorite album between the two of them, but I love the acoustic elements on The Mantle a lot more than Kveldssanger. It's a toss-up for me. |
Chortles
10.21.12 | really need to listen to both of these actually |

10.21.12 | agz |
NOTINTHEFACE
10.21.12 | I've only heard 1 from Ulver, plus their acoustic album. But based on that I have to go with Agalloch. Their sound is more refined IMO, which is to be expected from albums made 10 years later. |
Hyperion1001
10.21.12 | ulver easily
not only do they have a better discog but without them agalloch wouldnt exist |
Ire
10.21.12 | bm ulver - eh pretty good i guess not a huge fan

10.21.12 | Ulver has Garm, Agalloch has everything else. |
Wizard
10.21.12 | Perdition City is best so Ulver.
"Ulver has Garm, Agalloch has everything else."
Ummmmmm and Ulver has just better musicians overall. |
HSThomas
10.21.12 | True but I still prefer Agalloch's first two albums against Bergtatt any day. Tbh the comparisons fall apart after Ulver's first three albums really anyway. |

10.21.12 | Agollach = Ulver Americanized |
Emyay
10.21.12 | i like where your heads at mifzal but i don't know if i agree. agalloch don't really sound that "american" if you ask me. |

10.21.12 | Agalloch disappointed me with their live dvd and Ulver gets hipster points for doing it first. Haughm is a genius but Ashes and Marrow do get old quickly. |
mifzal
10.21.12 | Nothing wrong in being americanized but that's the truth! well thrash is Americanized from of NWOBHM
so not necessarily a bad thing! |
Emyay

10.21.12 | It's hard to decide. Agalloch wouldn't exist without the influence of Ulver in the first place. Ulver is an ever-changing entity and never fail to impress me - on the other hand - Agalloch are also diverse but stay within the parameters of metal and folk. I would go for Agalloch emotionally-wise; musically-wise Ulver 100%. But to be honest; I love them both :] |
GiaNXGX
10.21.12 | The Mantle > Kveldssanger
Bergatt > Ashes Against the Grain
Pale Folklore / Marrow > Nattens Madrigal
Shadows of The Sun > Agalloch's extended plays
Ulver's Discog > Agalloch's Discog
|
TalonsOfFire
02.13.15 | I want to say Ulver because of how many genres they tackle over their career, I could listen to any album of theirs for almost any mood I'm in. They're possibly the most diverse band of the past 25 years. Agalloch's first three are untouchable though, and even after that they're still great, it's a very close call. They're about the same for me. |

02.13.15 | Electronic Ulver>Agalloch>BM Ulver
Sooo Ulver |

02.13.15 | Shadows of the Sun and The Mantle are in the top 3 of all their stuff |

02.13.15 | I love u gian |
TalonsOfFire
02.13.15 | Both pull off playing neofolk so well, though Agalloch were definitely influenced by Ulver in that way. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
02.13.15 | yeah but ulver has done a hell of a lot more stylistically than just 'neofolk' whereas agalloch has not explored nearly as much |
Wadlez
02.13.15 | Ulver duh.. Agalloch is cool too |
TalonsOfFire
02.13.15 | Both are incredible but I think Ulver might be slightly better, if anything just because of how ambitious and talented they are, especially when it comes at exploring so many facets of music, and succeeding. |

02.13.15 | jesus.

02.13.15 | I dig Agalloch more, but I mean, Ulver is more prolific. |
