09.05.11 | Cheer up sputnik, Missouri is almost into the fall season! |
Divine
09.05.11 | Eh. I don't know about #1. |
Acanthus
09.05.11 | For me 1 is their best album, I love every track and can lipsynch it really well not to mention singing along. |
Emim
09.05.11 | wow today was a nice day almost felt like fall guess i'll have to put my segway in the garage. list is the best punk albums from 1996 |
Acanthus
09.05.11 | lol Emim, that's some cryptic sarcasm! |

09.05.11 | the leaves are starting to fall from the trees up here already |
Acanthus
09.05.11 | I noticed it when I got home from work, it's started here too. Can't wait man, falls so great. |
someguest
09.05.11 | we have a bunch of apple orchards around here
it's really nostalgic to make a few trips to them, like I did as a kid |
Acanthus
09.05.11 | We've got one nearby, most of my child memories of fall are hazy/pale to my college memories of fall. |
Acanthus
09.05.11 | I've gathered that impression over the course of a few threads/comments, and while I can understand I still love it. Their older work is good as well though. |
Vesper
09.05.11 | Crash Love is your favorite AFI album?
D: |
Acanthus
09.05.11 | Yes and before you and everyone goes ballistic I have the three mentioned above as well as "Black Sails in the Sunset" and "The Art of Drowning" - if you must know I never listened to the band until I randomly bought "Crash Love" and got a couple free buttons; played it to death and have some great memories attached that negate any "loss" of previous style (RIP Davey's makeup) or "selling out" |
Divine
09.05.11 | Sing the Sorrow was my first AFI album. |
Parallels
09.05.11 | totally nostalgia'd on 4. specifically Atreyu's "her portrait in black". |
Acanthus
09.05.11 | Sonicspeed that's the only reason I bought the album, it put me in debt big time with the bank (overdrew to get it) but I've always loved both the album and that track. |
Divine
09.05.11 | What are your thoughts about decemberunderground acanthus? |
Acanthus
09.05.11 | Oh well firstly I thought I'd mention fav track from Sing The Sorrow is "...But Home Is Nowhere" - can relate to it so well and it always makes me smile
As for DU I really enjoy it, it seems to be rather eclectic at times but the latter tracks ("Kiss and Control" on) are all great and the opener I played 100x in one day when I first got the album. |
Divine
09.05.11 | Ah, I remember I used to play "The Interview" a lot when I was in middle school and "The Missing Frame." But for some reason when I listen to AFI now my teeth cringe a little. |
Acanthus
09.05.11 | I can understand, when I bring DU to work I get a lot of the same reactions. They don't mind it per-say, but they "got over that" in school years ago. |
Vesper
09.05.11 | Haha, no, I'm not going to go all old-school fan on you. AFI is my favorite band no matter what, even if I do like their older stuff more (I heard Art of Drowning when I was twelve and it basically set me on the course for "dark musics", hahaha).
Crash Love is super-poppy, but it's so undeniably catchy that I can't dislike it. I have the deluxe edition with the Camilla Rose Garcia prints, as well as a second regular copy that was signed by the band for an art competition, so I'd be hypocritical to say it's bad, haha. |
Acanthus
09.05.11 | You would at that! I've yet to see them live, but the art prints are gorgeous and having something signed would make my day for sure! |
Vesper
09.05.11 | They're AMAZING live. I've seen them twice - once in New York and once in London.
I don't really count the album, since I didn't have them sign it in person, but my ticket from New York has the autographs of everyone but Davey, since he's seriously hard to catch, thanks to the scary fangirls ruining for the rest of us. |

09.05.11 | My friend had him sign her Converse, which was totally cool to see! I really would love to travel back in time to see them play when Davey had his older styles. |
