My New Rig And Digs

So My old XPS died a month ago and I've been going nuts without a good workhorse of a PC. I need my PC to do everything I want it to with some limited gaming included. I have my xbox for anything to heavy but I still want to be able to play some games on steam without any serious droops in frame rate. We now have a kid on the way and I told my wife in no uncertain terms that I will have a new PC before the birth because I would never feel right spending a dime on myself afterwords. So With a scraped together budget of approx. $650 this is what I've put together. Half of it is ordered and I'm waiting on the funding for the other half. List is some great digs, some old and some very new.
Old Raves End

Cooler Master Computer Case RC-692-KKN2: A great case for the price
with plenty of space for routing cables, a bootom mount PSU and an
external SATA-X doc on the top.

Intel Core i5 2500K: Best bang for the buck/future proofed CPU with
unlocked multipliers for OC'ing fun. With it's built in GPU combined with the
Z68 mobo I can do video encoding till the cows come home.
3The Streets
All Got Our Runnins

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus: The best budget cooling solution for CPU
4Dizzee Rascal
Boy In Da Corner

Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155: After a few more recent purchases
and some research I've become a bit of a Gigabyte fan-boy. This newer
mobo has some outstanding features for the pricepoint including the new
Z68 chipset and an oustanding audio setup.
5Laura Stevenson and the Cans
Sit Resist

OCZ Technology ModXStream Pro 600W Modular ATX PSU: This line of
Modular PSUs test out really well and should provide enough power should
I want to go Crossfire in the future.
6La Sera
La Sera

Gigabyte Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.0 x16: This is actually my
old graphics card but it OC's like a mother fucker and should do well in a
CrossFire configuration.

Kingston HyperX blu 8GB DDR3-1600: Some budget gamming Ram but 8gb
for less than $80, I'm not going to bitch. DDR3-1600 seems to hit the i5-
2500K sweet spot.
8Bomb the Music Industry!

Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7,200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5: Now even though this
is an older SATA II drive the SATA III drives really aren't hitting any great
transfer rates at a price point I can match so this will fit the best of both
9The Dangerous Summer
War Paint

Cooler Master Computer Case Cooling R4-L2R-20AC-GP: Some extra 120mm
variable speed case fans for efficiency and low db-a.
10Van Morrison
New York Sessions 67

The idea here is to get components that will allow me access to the newer
tech as I can afford it a couple years down the road and this build should
do just that.
