Not sure what africans and canadians call it though. the word doesn't annoy me like it does everyone in this country (for some reason) but comparing the two sports is basically pointless considering they aren't similar at all that being said, I tried watching american football once and it bored me to tears

I think you also lose points for penalty misses and own goals but I might be wrong. So it can be quite complex. "What? does Abraham Lincoln play soccer what does this even mean" Clean sheets. That wouldn't work in futebol cos the goals aren't as frequent and because goals are generally scored more by strikers and you have to have a team which has a set number of players from each position, as if it were a real team. Oh, and you also get points for every 5 saves your goalkeeper makes or something. "and do you lose points for penalties? fuck no, well unless you consider hypothetical points that could have scored if not penalized" think you misunderstand. if you get a penalty kick and miss, I think you lose points, but I can't remember exactly. I may be wrong. Most of the time, penalties are scored, and when they aren't it's generally more down to the error of the taker rather the skill of the goalkeeper (though both will play a part)
