My Favorite Metal Albums of 2019
Loose ordering. Yes, I did include Tool of a metal list. Honorable mentions: Shredhead, Necropanther, Possessed, Vitriol, and Angel Witch.
Edit: Originally completely missed Creeping Death on this list somehow. |
1 | | Blood Incantation Hidden History of the Human Race
I still don't fully understand this album. There is so much going on in it. Amazing. |
2 | | Xentrix Bury The Pain
This is some great thrash metal. |
3 | | Sacred Reich Awakening
Likely my most anticipated album of the year. This wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, but I think they made something more relevant. Certainly an evolution of their sound/feel. |
4 | | Creeping Death Wretched Illusions
I somehow missed adding this band to the list even though its one of my top for the year. Amazing album, Very gorilla heavy, shirtless hairy vocalist, death metal. |
5 | | Cattle Decapitation Death Atlas
Never got into these guys until now, and damn! This is amazing. I need to listen to this many more time and check out their older material. |
6 | | Dust Bolt Trapped in Chaos |
7 | | Allegaeon Apoptosis |
8 | | Idle Hands (USA-OR) Mana
This caught me by surprise. |
9 | | Cult of Luna A Dawn to Fear |
10 | | Spirit Adrift Divided by Darkness |
11 | | Enforced At The Walls |
12 | | Tool Fear Inoculum
I was hoping for something heavier, but ended up really liking this. Minus the pointless filler tracks. |
13 | | Death Angel Humanicide
One of my favorite bands, with one of the best series of modern releases from 80s legends. |
14 | | Smoulder Times of Obscene Evil and Wild Daring |
15 | | Sentient Horror Morbid Realms |
