Just Saw Gojira And Ghost

At the Jagermeister Tour at Birmingham. They were also suppotred by the Defiled who I thought were pretty pants. Anyway, long story short, I went for Gojira but Ghost fucking slayed and were by far the best band on the night.
1The Defiled
Grave Times

Opened the night, were kind of crappy tbh, lots of chugs and the scene kids loved them, but were just not on the same level as the other bands on the night. Also got the impression they take themselves far too seriously and think they're the best band ever and are a bunch of assholes. Impression confirmed when they boasted about their hardcore drinking prowess about how they got drunk and pissed in their sound guy's bag. Which is just mean.

2Gojira
From Mars To Sirius

The reason I wanted to go in the first place, surprised they didn't get the headlinign slot and only got 45 minutes. But honestly, as well as they played the songs, 45 minutes was for the best as they got a bit monotonous by the end. Songs like Backbone and L'enfant Sauvage stood out, but overall it got somewhat tiresome. Phemonenal musicians, but tonight it lacked that bit of heart.

3Ghost B.C.
Opus Eponymous

Had reservations about why they'd been given about half and hour longer than Gojira and effectively the headline slot. And while I enjoyed their album, with the ache that my back was giving me, I thought an hour and twenty odd minuteed would take a long time to pass. But damn the energy they gave off on the night was amazing. Papa Emeritus roamed the stage while his gouls provided the most wonderful, thumping backing track that I think caught everyone by surprse, especially myself. Top notch performance and would recommend to anyone to check out live if they can.
