30 Day Song Challenge

I'm heaps hip to social media and whatnot so I'm in the process of doing this thing on Facebook. I tried to not pick the same band/artist twice. Loving life at the moment. Love youse all.
1Miles Davis
In A Silent Way

Day 1 - Your favourite song - "In A Silent Way/It's About That Time". For this I just pick from a pool of about 15 songs that are tied for 1st place.
2Short Stack
This Is Bat Country

Day 2 - Your Least Favourite Song - "We Dance To A Different Disco, Honey". Yuck.
3Janelle Monae
Metropolis Suite I of IV: The Chase

Day 3 - A Song That Makes You Happy - "Many Moons." And the accompanying video. Cynical me saw this on MTV or Channel V a few years ago and this completely kicked my ass.
4Elliott Smith

Day 4 - A Song That Makes You Sad - "Between the Bars". I would have picked King's Crossing but I figured people would stop listening before the vocals kicked in. Bastards.
5At the Drive-In
Relationship of Command

Day 5 - A Song That Reminds You of Someone - "One Armed Scissor"
6Arcade Fire
The Suburbs

Day 6 - A Song That Reminds You of Somewhere - "The Suburbs". You wouldn't believe it but this reminds me of the suburbs.
7Joanna Newsom
Have One On Me

Day 7 - A Song That Reminds You of A Certain Event - "Go Long". Joanna live at the City Recital Hall.
8A Tribe Called Quest
Midnight Marauders

Day 8 - A Song You Know All The Words To - "Electric Relaxation." In my spare time I like to pretend I'm Q-Tip and Phife combined into one person, like I'm some schizophrenic one man hip hop group. But seriously this group is so good.
9Herbie Hancock

Day 9 - A Song That You Can Dance To - "Watermelon Man". Quirky flute intro, then the bass finally enters, and then the drums lay the most fucking triumphant groove ever put to tape.
10Pharoah Sanders

Day 10 - A Song That Makes You Fall Asleep - "Astral Traveling". Not in a bad way. Just chills me out. Didn't want to re-use In A Silent Way.
11The Beatles
Magical Mystery Tour

Day 11 - A Song From Your Favourite Band - "I Am The Walrus." I don't have a favourite band so I just threw this up so the Beatles were included.
12Limp Bizkit
Significant Other

Day 12 - A Song From A Band You Hate - "Break Stuff." Gross.
13Kylie Minogue

Day 13 - A Guilty Pleasure - "Can't Get You Out Of My Head." Probably has a lot to do with the music video.
14Kate Bush
The Kick Inside

Day 14 - A Song No One Would Expect You To Love - "Wuthering Heights." Song rules.
15Poison The Well
You Come Before You

Day 15 - A Song That Describes You - "Apathy Is A Cold Body." Still undecided on this but 'stick to the side roads, they help interesting thoughts.'
16The Beatles
Abbey Road

Day 16 - A Song You Used To Love But Now Hate - "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." Undecided on this one too. Hate is a strong word, but this is pretty cheesy, in an otherwise brilliant album.
17Cold Chisel

Day 17 - A Song You Often Hear On The Radio - "Flame Trees." Fuck yeah, Chisel on a Sputnik list.
18Charles Mingus
The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady

Day 18 - A Song You Wish You Heard On The Radio - "Duet Solo Dancers".

Day 19 - A Song From Your Favourite Album - "Hunter." Same deal with favourite song. Multiple albums tied for first place - I just picked a track off an album I'd given a 5 to that wasn't on the list yet.
Jane Doe

Day 20 - A Song That You Listen To When You're Angry - "The Broken Vow."
21The Roots

Day 21 - A Song That You Listen To When You're Happy - "The Seed 2.0". I prefer ATCQ when happy but they're on here already.
The Reminder

Day 22 - A Song that you Listen To When You're Sad - "So Sorry". I should listen to happy stuff to cheer me up really.
23St. Vincent
Marry Me

Day 23 - A Song That You Want Played At Your Wedding - "Marry Me". Heh. Haven't given this much thought to be honest. It's gotta appeal to a wide variety of people, especially the missus, but not be cheesy as shit. Very fine line.
24Led Zeppelin
Houses of the Holy

Day 24 - A Song You Want Played At Your Funeral - "The Rain Song." Or something funny to lighten the mood.

Day 25 - A Song That Makes You Laugh - "Tik Tok". I make anyone around me stfu so I can hear 'the party don't start til i walk eeeeyyyhhnnnn'.
26Cat Power
You Are Free

Day 26 - A Song You Can Play On A Musical Instrument - "Werewolf". Could have chosen something more technically demanding to flex my chops. My tricky licks.
27Bill Evans Trio
Sunday at the Village Vanguard

Day 27 - A Song You Wish You Could Play On A Musical Instrument - "Gloria's Step (Take 2)". I'd kill to be able to play this on piano.
28Bob Dylan
Blood On The Tracks

Day 28 - A Song That Makes You Feel Guilty - "Idiot Wind." Bit unsure on this one but this song is unbelievable.
29 Louis Armstrong
The Hot Fives & Sevens, Vol III

Day 29 - A Song From Your Childhood - "Mack the Knife". Dunno if it's on this album. Song is probably from the 30s or 40s. I'm not actually 80+ years old but the old man used to spin this stuff on his fancy old-fangled record player.
30David Bowie

Day 30 - Your Favourite Song This Time Last Year - "Heroes". Still my equal favourite. Pyramid Song from Radiohead could fit here too.
