05.11.16 | Used to have a pedalboard consisting of like 9 pedals, but now I'm using an Axe Fx II and haven't looked back. I do still keep up with what's out there though, as I'm a HUGE gear head. |

05.11.16 | I have a couple shit/cheap behringers, coolest thing I have is a joyo vintage phaser |
Tyler.
05.11.16 | what that's something you run through your computer i assume? I've been a little skeptical of those haha I have 5 pedals now i'm trying to get there. I'm trying to get a nice compressor rn |
Tyler.
05.11.16 | i have a joyo overdrive and it's great - especially for the price |
macman76
05.11.16 | Been meaning to buy an overdrive and the joyo looks economical |
Tyler.
05.11.16 | i have the ultimate drive. i think i got it off of someone recommendation here i think. its cheap so if you dont like its no big deal. i'm gonna buy the ocd (which is what the joyo is supposed to emulate) |

05.11.16 | Joyo is fucking amazing. I've owned at least 4 of their pedals over the years and they were all great. And that price cannot be beaten. Mooer is another fantastic Chinese brand, although a bit more expensive but MUCH smaller.
"what that's something you run through your computer i assume? I've been a little skeptical of those haha"
Haha yeah I used to be there. Never thought something digital could replace real analog gear and while I certainly ain't no gear snob, the Axe Fx sounds so realistic I highly doubt anyone could ever tell the difference. Not to mention its versatility is infinite. |

05.11.16 | My rig that I use in my band Zero The Clock, it's mostly alternative metal stuff...
Guitars:
-Becker Retro Custom (similar to PRS specs but with a Fender Jazzmaster styled body) with Seymour Duncan Custom Custom/Jazz pickups
-Gibson Silverburst Les Paul Studio with Seymour Duncan Distortion/59 pickups
Amp:
-Peavey 6505+ with Peavey Triple XXX straight cab
Pedals:
-ISP Decimator Noise Gate (for preamp noise)
-DOD FX75c Flanger (to patch up the admittedly sterile cleans on the 6505+, planning on getting a Boss Reverb pedal to complement it soon)
-Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive (mainly for solos, occasionally to tighten up for more thrashy tones)
-Vox Classic Wah (currently needs repairs, but great sounding pedal)
-TC Electronics Polytune
Also I'm using Dunlop .88 mm green sharp picks and Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom 10-52 strings (originally all my guitars were in Drop C but my band as of recently tuned back up to Drop C#) |

05.11.16 | @BMDrummer some solid-states are pretty great for distortion, my second guitarist actually kinda digs them more for high gain than tubes sometimes |
figure337
05.11.16 | @ScuroFantasma I mainly just changed the pickups to a seymour duncan 59 in the neck and a alternative 8 in the bridge. Amazing combination. It's exactly like having modern and classic tones and the touch of a switch. |

05.11.16 | currently, i use all boss pedals, though i'm definitely gonna swap some of them out (the phaser kinda sucks, and i want a different drive pedal for when i eventually get a tube amp)
boss os 2 - boss ps 6 (will never swap out this thing its great) - boss ph 3 - boss bf 3 - boss dd 3 - boss rc 1. probably gonna switch the os 2 ph 3 bf 3 with the ts 9 mxr micro chorus and evh phase 90, and will replace the rc 1 with a tuner. will get either a wah or volume too. |

05.11.16 | I just run my Jackson JS32-8 through a piece of shit starter amp. Occasionally I'll use my Danelectro CV1 chorus pedal if I fancy having some fun, but given I don't play in any bands and haven't got the means of recording shit, I don't really need a fancy setup. |

05.11.16 | Pedalboard has:
Boss dd-7 w/ a switch for proper tap tempo (awesome)
Tc hall of fame (decent)
Visual sound h20
mxr uni-vibe (shit)
mxr phase 90 (good)
zvex box of rock (boost is great, distortion is shit)
boss cs-3 (eh)
isp decimator II (good)
One day I'll buy an axe fx 2 and it'll all collect dust
amp is currently an adorable orange micro terror w/ a traynor 1x12 cab
guitars include:
yamaha acoustic, too lazy to find the model #
korean epiphone les paul, pretty great actually
prs se torero, guitar is great but i despise the floyd rose
and a terrible chinese bass that's been modified to be somewhat good |
DinosaurJones
05.11.16 | But rly tho
I play a Schecter TS/H1 Semi-Hollo
Through a Kustom 200w head and an Ibanez 4x12. It's a Frankenstein setup
And I only have a footswitch to switch between in-amp distortion and cleans. |

LOL it's just a matter of saving money + patience. And I think Axe Fx I and II's are much cheaper now that there are newer models etc. |

05.11.16 | "thinking of saving up for a bugera 333. seems like a really good, loud, cheap tube amp. ive heard good things about bugera."
Tbh I've heard mixed reviews on Bugera. Specifically the 333XL, just google "Bugera 333XL" and hit space and then google suggests the next word be "problems" so I dunno lol
Also that amp is monstrous in wattage. Do you really need that much power? In order to make it sound good it will have to be cranked (like any high wattage amp) and doing so will kill your cat. |
onionbubs
05.11.16 | i dont have a cat! |

05.11.16 | The head is cheap but don't forget the cab will also cost several hundred. Tbh a combo amp is much more portable and will still do the job. Maybe even do a better job, depending on your budget and a if you do a little research. |

05.11.16 | "LOL it's just a matter of saving money + patience. And I think Axe Fx I and II's are much cheaper now that there are newer models etc."
Well I suck at both saving money and being patient, so I'll probably never get there. Besides, I'm trying to get my hands on a Line 6 HD for simplicity of use and versatility. With the Line 6's Firehawk or whatever being out I'm hoping I'll be able to get one cheap on the aftermarket. |
bloc
05.11.16 | Haha fair enough, I know it's not easy. Yeah I had an HD500 a long time ago and it was really good. Sounded great and was super easy to use plus it was all on the floor so you could do anything you wanted in the heat of battle. That's the only issue with the Axe Fx; you gotta buy a separate foot controller which is ridiculously expensive. They have floor versions of the Axe Fx now but I'm not willing to replace the one I have now anyway.
The HD has been replaced by the Helix so I bet you can find HD500s for really cheap now. I do go with the 500 model and not the 300 or 400. It's much better in the long run.

Pedals = ISP Decimator Noise Gate
When recording metal:
Guitar = Jackson KE2
