|Covers With Great Photography|
Pretty self explanatory. I'm a huge fan of album art and here's a list rof some of my favourite rcovers that use photography as the sole rvisual basis.
The expression and the colours evoke such a dark story, which suits the
album's story perfectly.
|2||The Rolling Stones|
This one has such a spontaneous and rocknroll feeling.
|3||The Mars Volta|
Frances The Mute
Gives such an odd feeling, like a David Lynch scene.
It's so sleek and hyper real.
I love this one, it tells such a story.
Super punk, and the design makes it look like a proper classic.
It looks really unusual but fun to look at and creates a cool mood.
Crystal Castles II
Same as above.
Is This It
Despite the subject matter this photo has such a great sense of shape, like
a porno Man Ray.
I like the playful mood that I feel complements the music very well.
I've loved this since I was about 12, it always encapsulated the spirit of
rock for me and that feeling stuck with me since then.
Obviously chopped but still counts.
|13||These Arms Are Snakes|
Oxeneers or the Lion Sleeps When Its Antelope Go Home
I just love how offhand this is and the deep colours are awesome.
|14||These Arms Are Snakes|
This Is Meant To Hurt You
Love the creepy atmosphere.
Messy, Isn't It?
Looks like a screencap from a film, with such a grim message revealed with
your second glance.
Such a beautiful black and white shot, with a mood that complements the
music's incredibly dark sound.
No idea why but I just really like how this just works.
Just looks really bad ass.
Around The Fur
Love how it doesn't explain the music's sound at all, and the unusual angle
makes it look very stylized and uncomfortable.
|20||The Cave Singers|
I dunno, just love the serenity.
I've always loved the sight of tons of equipment thrown about.
Bizarre is good.
|23||The Afghan Whigs|
Don't actually have this one but the boy's eyes are so eerie so it's stuck
Love this dog!
Couldn't think of another one, but I suppose this could count.
