Some Personal Favourites

Like the title says, but not all necessarily in number order, favourite-wise.
1Faith No More
Angel Dust

A true 'lose yourself' musical experience!
Dark, twisting rides of musical madness from the Bay Areas finest.
Tales tackling Scientology, & trailer trash, to tracks about hard gay sex & local killer heroin dealers & more, all combined with an amazing array of musical textures & soundscapes, that range from dirty 70s copshow funk, to near industrial rhythms & queasy, dirty americana.
I picture deserts, rattlesnakes, RV's, 2 pump gas stations, guns, large collared leather jackets, flares, tattoos & highly dubious evangelists when i hear this album. Genius!
2Dredg
El Cielo

The alternative prog rock post hardcore-ish pop equivalent of 'OK Computer', to my ears.
A simply stunning body of work that really takes you on a true musical journey, across an intriguing concept(sleep paralysis). Beautiful & powerful in equal measure, they have yet to top this album!
3Handsome
Handsome

The album the Deftones would love to make & the best album Helmet & Quicksand never made.
I've had this album in a CD wallet(various) over the past 13 years & it comes out at least once a week.
One of the finest melodic alt' rock/post hardcore albums I've ever heard. Powerful, challeging & catchy in equal measures, & sterling performances from all involved. Terry Date adds his production & mixing skills to make this sound sonicly great to this day. A true 'lost' gem!
4 Glassjaw
Worship & Tribute

Crushing, complex & visceral, this is an unmatched classic which so many 'new generation Emo' bands would love to make, & have aped & raped from over the past 8 years.(Cough, My Chemical Romance' Cough, Lost Prophets, splutter, Taking Back Sunday, gasp)
This album takes on the more eclectic bent of the 'jaw debut album & redefines it all in a much more soulful way. It'd be a damn shame if they never get their fingers out for album number 3!
5 Molly McGuire
Lime

A sprawling, electic mix of noise, prog' post hardcore & pre-Deftones melodic drone. Angular, winding guitars & bass line-up over fantastic drums, & Page Hamilton meets-the-occasional David Yow-esque howling vocal stylings. The album sounds like a collision of Jesus Lizard-meets-Failure(not surprising as the latters Ken Andrews manned the desk for this one). Another lost gem!
6 Into Another
Seemless

Into Another were an enigma of a band that mixed hardcore(in their early days), classic rock, psychadelia & elements of prog' & alternative rock. They hit their creative(& sadly) final peak with this piece of gold, back in the heady grunge laced days of '95. The guitar work on this album is truly brilliant, & its a damn shame that the name of Peter Moses isn't heald in such high regard as pedlars of asthetically similar artists, such as Dave Navarro, or John Frusciante. Another album, thats lived in my CD wallet for over a decade!
