Mongi123 11.24.13	I haven't heard any of their eps actually. Just the LPs. Yea Colin's bass is always amazing and you haven't heard anything in terms of bass from this band until you hear Idiot Prayer. And yea Phase One is amazing too but Phase Two really carries most of the song imo

PistolPete 11.24.13	PT's later material is what I listened to first so that's probably why I can't go back and listen to their old stuff. Just no interest in the little I've heard. This band has given me some good moments to remember.
JamieTwort 11.24.13	I heard PT's later stuff first as well but never liked it. The first album I heard by them was Fear of a Blank Planet and I hated it (still do). It wasn't until much later that I realised that they had some material that I actually like.

Especially Lightbulb Sun" It's not so much the change in style that bothers but more the things that annoy me about Wilson becoming more prominent. It's his songwriting style that I really don't like and his more conceptual lyrics and also his singing style. Those factors started to creep in on Siginify (see the verses of Dark Matter) but luckily for me that album overall was still dominated by their earlier style for the most part.

Rowan5215 11.24.13	Nice list Jamie, I've never been big on 3 or 5 though, surprised 5 especially made the list in place of the t/t or Fadeaway. 1 is 1 forever though.

I really like Always Never (obviously), it shows that Wilson was capable of writing fairly simple but memorable songs that were also heavy on the psych at the same time. Up the Downstair's title track almost made this list actually, Fadeaway isn't quite up there for me, although still really good.
Rowan5215 11.24.13	I like 3's atmosphere but I always thought it went on a bit too long for it's own good. As for Always Never, well something about the chorus melody always bugged me, can't put my finger on why exactly but it's definitely my least favourite song from Up the Downstair. My list would probably be a bit more heavy on the Signify songs, eg Sever, Every Home is Wired, Light Mass Prayers (best interlude ever)

Rowan5215 11.24.13	I really really miss Chris. He had so much more restraint than Gavin, he knew how to contribute to atmosphere rather than just technicality, he did great backing vocals, and he made Light Mass Prayers. Gavin has done none of those things.

JamieTwort 11.24.13	Both Gavin and Chris are great drummers (although I don't think Gavin is anywhere near one of the best ever like some proclaim him to be). Chris is probably better in terms of overall contributions to the band (particularly on Signify) but in terms of drumming ability they're really close.

eloimayano 12.18.13	Big fan of everything that has SW attached to it. Though I can agree with everything on this sweet list. Would had a Russia on Ice, The Start of Something Beautiful or Don't hate me among their recent stuff in my favorites though.
