03.19.12 | Well he asked for Atmospheric metal too so I figyad what the hell.
Its funny that he liked Burst and not Neurosis though cuz Burst is basically a Neurosis rip off. Solid band but a poor mans Neurosis through and through. |

MotA - Quietly
AmenRa - Mass IIII
Godflesh - Pure
VYGR - Hypersleep
and yeah it's pretty hard to like post metal as a genre without liking Neurosis or Cult of Luna. Most ISIS, Neurosis and CoL is essential PM.

03.19.12 | Maybe not a ripoff but what about Burst would make someone like them over Neurosis? To each his own I guess but Neurosis did every Burst is doing twice as good. Not to mention they invented the friggin genre lol. |
Maniac!
03.19.12 | Amenra - Mass IIII [2] |
evilford
03.19.12 | Burst is more than post metal. there are hints of post metal in Lazarus Bird but to me it sounds like they were still rooted in metalcore. There are elements present but Neurosis and Burst hardly sound alike.
there are vague similarities but to me, Burst came from their own direction and went their own direction. |
NeutralThunder12
03.19.12 | well neurosis and burst are very different and idc who invented it, neurosis's music for me most of the time favors volume over melody, and I hate their singer, I like Burst's singer a lot and I love their guitar work and I find them more enjoyable than neurosis. and i don't hate neurosis, I actually like Eye of Every Storm a lot but thats about all i enjoy |
NeutralThunder12
03.19.12 | also guys if you have stuff like 1 and 5 that's like atmospheric metal with modern classical influence that too would be greatly appreciated thanks |
