Remarkably impressive release at this stage of their career. Probably their most varied album to date, however, I must say that the "organic" production sounds like shit. Their first release showcasing their rhythmic approach and holy crap what a monster it is! The grooves are ridiculous and the songwriting is top-notch. Even though the re-issue has cleaner production, it's hard to get into since I've trained my ears to the original version after about 200 listens. The best Meshuggah album and one of the singular achievements in all of metal. Words cannot describe how perfect this thing is. Every riff, every transition, every solo is flawless.
