attempt #2 (ty mx). top 10 or so is mostly ranked. everything else is things ive liked in relative order. included links to buy (plz buy spotify sux) and genres.
i probably listened to too much considering only these few actually ended up being decent, but its my go-to comfort genre so i just passively listen to a lot.
i honestly think its very funny at this point. there are albums from other genres that i do like but my comfort zone is metal / electronica / ambient / hiphop and i rarely stray from that unless someone else with good taste pushes me too.
lots of cool stuff on here, our lists have a surpising amount of overlap
did you happen to hear Blut Aus Nord's complilation album Lovecraftian Echoes? that shit destroys
I’m not sure but you get my seal of approval because you have a bunch of death metal and idm on the same list
2 is solid I jammed half of it whilst driving on a rainy highway. but even with that, idk if it’s actually as cool as the album art heh
nothing comes close to unglued off #2 for me. one of the beautiful swimmers guys dropped it in a warehouse in DC and I 100% lost my mind. the drop sent me to another plane of existence.
from like 2018 - 2020 I barely listened to any new music but things have calmed down so I’m back into it. its way fuckin harder than it used to be tho cause there’s like more music than ever and 90% of it sucks ass. luckily I can still find the good stuff.
it’s not really idm honestly but I also don’t really know what it is? the rym genre page is full of arguing, people are calling it everything from drum and bass to neurofunk to techno.
i do think you’ll like it, it sounds nothing like laptopcore idm
i cant even begin to dive into the vast ocean of new electronic stuff when im still a novice on the 90s stuff. its overwhelming. im probably even wrong by calling it electronic but im not schooled enough to know the difference between most of the subgenres
My roommate is a huge hip hop head and he's been jammin Denzel curry and JID nonstop all year, they sound super good and any time I hear it im like "damn this is sweet" but whenever I have control of what's on the speakers I just would rather jam dm, idk
