06.04.22 | Mirrors is my favorite. I very vividly remember the WEEK it took me to download the record from limewire. Each day would be spent playing the shit out the latest one I had download. By the time the record had been downloaded to the computer, every riff, fill, and shout had been downloaded to my brain. The production is immaculate and I like that it’s a bit more atmospheric and less riff oriented than the rest of their material.
What’s your fav? |

06.04.22 | Controller ez but I think the Mirrors title track is a top 3 song they've ever made. Sometimes I like it more than Five Years. |
Trebor.
06.04.22 | Controller
Mirrors is great but the production is terrible and a lot of the songs meander and aren't super memorable
Absent Light is good but not as good as the others |
Colliiiin
06.04.22 | All are good, but Controller is def their best |

06.04.22 | Of Malice >
seriously tho lol I also remember being around after it dropped. I was using KAZAA lmao
first song I heard was Anchor
and oh my god that song still stands out to me after all these years. even if the production is fuckin bricked to hell and dumbasses like August Burns Red did the same thing, the music (riffs, drumming, vocals, the damn dramatic moments of suspense) was awesome. Being at 16 was also the perfect time to find it especially with the “romantic” sounding parts that weren’t really there on Of Malice.
speaking of, always made me wonder what if Jesses stayed and recorded Mirrors as originally intended lol |

06.04.22 | I've only heard Mirrors and Controller but Mirrors has always been my fave of the two |
Avagantamos
06.04.22 | Controller is always the first thing that comes to my mind when thinking about "generic sounding metalcore done well" |
onionbubs
06.04.22 | controller > mirrors > absent light. all rule but controller has gotta be like minimum top 15 albums ever made

06.04.22 | Controller > Mirrors > Absent Light
Controller is quite simply the magnum opus of metalcore in general. It sounds JUST like the album art. A gloomy and rainy cityscape yet holds some kind of mysterious beauty to it. |

06.05.22 | yea idk about that
that’s givining it too much association by looking at it too much |
Viriathus
06.05.22 | Mirrors pretty easily as it has some of their best guitarwork and I have such a massive softspot for The Failsafe as it was the song that made me love Misery Signals as a teenager. |

Damn thats an interesting take on it. I always associated the music with bright sunny day imagery. Songs like Coma, Ebb & Flow, Homecoming, Certain Death, Labyrinthian all give me summertime feels. |
