06.29.21 | Ooooh good question!
Opeth - My Arms Your Hearse
The Prodigy - Music For The Jilted Generation
DJ Krush - Strictly Turntablized
Just because I've heard them SO MUCH I can hear them completely in the back of my mind. What would they sound like to me on first listen!? Super curious. |

06.29.21 | Cool idea:
The Beatles - Abbey Road
Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
Partially this is because these are my three favorite albums of all time. But also because, oh if only I could relive hearing "Here Comes the Sun," "Time," and "Closer" for the first time again! 😉 |

06.29.21 | Jilted Gen for the first time was a real caper fuck yeah
This question is kinda rough to answer because most of the best albums are the ones that don't hit you at their hardest the first time. I guess DSOTM, Feedbacker and probably some Godspeed shit were all instant gamechangers back in their time for me? Maybe also Slanted and Enchanted or Remain in Light. They'll do |

This 100%. I thought about picking some of my fave fave ones ever, but they were mostly huge growers (...😏). |
ArsMoriendi
06.29.21 | -Radiohead - Amnesiac (first listen was like an otherworldly experience)
-Mr. Bungle - California (the shock value of this album fades overtime even though it's still great)
-The Mothers of Invention - We're Only in It for the Money (because my first time through was with the shitty 80s version, so it didn't take until I heard the original mastering for me to fall in it love with it and I deserve a do over lol)

06.29.21 | Slipknot - S/T - Just for that feeling of being flung back-first into a brick wall. Though I don't think it would have quite the same impact on grown-up me as it did on teenage me.
Barfighter - S/T. Just to have my mind blown away by the first track all over again.
Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind. See reasons above. Because seriously. Where Eagles Dare, yo. |
Hawks
06.29.21 | Opeth - Ghost Reveries
Cradle of Filth - Dusk and Her Embrace
Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse |
TheAntichrist

06.29.21 | You mean early albums that wowed on first listen? I'd say
Cradle of Filth - Vempire
Dimmu Borgir - EDT
Fear Factory - Digimortal |

06.30.21 | All of my choices have more to do with the scenario I was in when I listened to them.
Pyrrhon - Abscess Time. I took way too many mushrooms and gave this a whirl. Was not prepared for how batshit that album is. I was genuinely terrified, writhing on the floor crylaughing. I remember throwing up at one point. After it was over I felt so alive.
Code Orange - I Am King. I was walking around my neighborhood at like 9PM, and it was both terrifying yet strangely hypnotic to listen to this album while it was pitch black outside.
Tame Impala - The Slow Rush. I was incredibly sick when the album came out and listening to it was very comforting. Even though I wasn't huge on it on my first listen, it definitely grew on me, largely in part to how warm it made me feel that day. Like patiently eating through a large bowl of tomato soup. |

06.30.21 | Neurosis -through silver in blood
Kayo dot-choirs of the eye
Cannibal ox- the cold vein |
Kompys2000
06.30.21 | Arcade Fire- Funeral (first heard it walking to a friend's house on the most gorgeous crisp winter afternoon and the opening bars of "Tunnels" just kicked my heart's ass all over the place)
Modest Mouse- The Lonesome Crowded West (bought this at my local record store the day before I left for college, put it on that night and, tired from moving furniture all day, started dozing off somewhere around the end of "Trailer Trash". About 12 minutes later, "Shit Luck" jolted me awake in a delirious cold sweat and for a split second I thought my house was getting Donnie Darko'ed. Though I regret having missed "out of gas" and "long distance drunk" on my first listen, no music has ever had that visceral an impact on me before or since)
Moon Tooth- Crux (due to a weird glitch with Bandcamp I got this album the night pre-orders went up- about 2 months before the official release. I freaked the fuck out and told my roommate (also a big fan) and he freaked the fuck out and I quickly burned the mp3s onto a CD and we drove around town blasting it, one of the best non-concert musical experiences of my life) |

06.30.21 | that Moon Tooth story is so fucking cool. Love to bootleg albums with the homies |
