Maniac!
06.14.11 | I could do a better 70's list but I won't. |
greg84
06.14.11 | Cool list even though it's lacking in at least two seminal prog albums: King Crimson - Red and Gentle Giant - Octopus |
BigHans
06.14.11 | Isnt meant to be a best of 70s list, if it was, KC and the Sunshine Band and the Village People wouldnt be on it |

omnipanzer
06.14.11 | There may be some artists I would have done differant albums for but I don't think there is a bad album up there sir. |
BigHans
06.14.11 | I didnt really put an emphasis on albums, just artists. I just really wanted an excuse to put Dan Fogelberg, Jim Croce, and James Taylor on a list lol |
omnipanzer
06.14.11 | I think I could stay with you for a whiiiiile maybe longer if I cooouuullldd. |
omnipanzer
06.14.11 | Not sure if those lyrics are right ;^P |
omnipanzer
06.14.11 | The funny thing is I was making a user list last week but I backed out of the page and lost the whole
thing. I had you paired with 67 and the line was... "I now you meant to have this 5'd buddy" because
you had no rating for it. There is no way you didn't go through high school with that album. |
BigHans
06.14.11 | close enough.

April Wine
Scorpions
Van Halen
Cream
Kiss
Peter Frampton
Alice Cooper
Judas Priest
I was going to say 'not enough prog' but coming from me, it would have been too predictable. |
omnipanzer
06.14.11 | America |
BigHans
06.14.11 | Jethro, have Kiss, Frampton, VH, and Priest on here. I definitely forgot Alice Cooper. I wouldve put Cream on but I think all of their albums were released in the 60s. I definitely should have put The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway on here for you. |
DominionMM1
06.14.11 | No Nazareth? I'm a little surprised, as I could totally see Hans rawkin' out to some 'Hair Of The Dog'. |
omnipanzer
06.14.11 | Not to be picky but a good non-compilation Moody Blues album would have been nice too ;^P |
Jethro42
06.14.11 | Holy shit, where did I leave my glasses! Yeah it's alright for The Lamb for this time though. You got Aqualung and couple of great prog stuff, and it did make me happy. |
BigHans
06.14.11 | dude totally forgot Nazareth, and BOC, and Alice Cooper. |
BigHans
06.14.11 | Not to be picky but a good non-compilation Moody Blues album would have been nice too ;^P
^ I cheated on taht one cause their best stuff came out in the 60s |
BigHans
06.14.11 | and the fact I forgot Thin Lizzy is unacceptable. Oh well, too late to edit now will totally fuck up the artwork |
DominionMM1
06.14.11 | "dude totally forgot Nazareth, and BOC, and Alice Cooper."
Yeah, this list could've used more cowbell. |

omnipanzer
06.14.11 | You're going to need to stop now because I have the GOOD part of the discog (album 1-8) with me which
means I need to listen to it if enticed (if you mention it and it's been more than a week since I've
heard it last). |
Jethro42
06.14.11 | Have you considered
Dire Strait?
Simple Minds?
Cheap Trick? |
BigHans
06.14.11 | lol you are a fanboy huh?
My association with Moody Blues is probably average at best. I mean I had their greatest hits when I was like 13 and my Dad would always play Days of Future Passed, and I saw them in concert once, but thats about it. |
BigHans
06.14.11 | Jethro, have Cheap Trick. Fuck shouldve put Dire Straits on. |
Jethro42
06.14.11 | ^Tuesday Afternoon fuck yeah |
Jethro42
06.14.11 | oops sorry for those you already have and for those you don't :/ |
omnipanzer
06.14.11 | Yah I'd say the big 4 I grew up with (father influence) were:
The Beatles
Bob Dylan
Van Morrison
Moody Blues
Just in terms of volume. He had their discogs on either vinyl Reel-to-reel cassette or CD. |
BigHans
06.14.11 | I like the Moody Blues' 80's stuff.
WONT YOU TAKE ME BACK TO SCHOOL, I NEED TO LEARN THE GOLDEN RULE

coneren
06.14.11 | aww fuck yeah |
omnipanzer
06.14.11 | "lol you are a fanboy huh?"
I really thought I had made that clear by now. I just think they were fucking cool. To incorporate so many influences, have spoken poetry, album long themes for multiple albums. As I understand it their recording process was to lock themselves in a studio until the "story" was recorded. just all that stuff seams like a really cool way to approach ones art of choice imo. |
omnipanzer
06.14.11 | ^ sorry if that doesn't make much sence... I was typing during a meeting. ;^P |
BigHans
06.14.11 | nah makes sense |
omnipanzer
06.17.11 | Not sure where the Clutch list went but bump for sweetness. |
JamieTwort
06.17.11 | As awesome as this list is it needs Rainbow - Rising. |
BigHans
06.17.11 | yeah I realized I forgot Rainbow the second I submitted it. Bad omission on my part, but then again this wasnt a "best of the 70s" list, just a list of alot of cool 70s stuff |
Nagrarok
06.17.11 | list is awesome as per usual |
mallen-
06.17.11 | pretty amazing list. great choice for Neil Young too |
BigHans
06.17.11 | thanks fellas |
