| Favorite Drums/cymbals
Being a drummer (endorsed by Truth) I'm always around different types
of drums and cymbals from a lot of different companies. I ranked my
favorites by "drum company/cymbal company" in the descriptions of
albums I bought recently. | 3 | | Animosity Animal
Ludwig/Meinl. Ludwig makes my list for one reason and one reason alone: Black
Beauty snare. As you can see in my profile picture, my latest recording set-up
utilized the Black Beauty to its fullest potential and I have never achieved a
snare sound so clean and powerful before. Meinl cymbals, in my opinion, suck.
But, they suck less than any other cymbal company that didn't make my list. To
be honest, I don't like how they sound on any record I have heard (except
Ashes Of The Wake by Lamb Of God). If I had to pick a favorite from them, I
would say the MB20 series would take the crown. | 2 | | Whitechapel The Somatic Defilement
DW Drums/Sabian. DW sound amazing for the price. They look great, and the
sounds you get from them are warm and very loud. Some great players are
endorsed by DW as well. Sabian is a pretty interesting company. I have a
love/hate relationship with them, as their cymbals don't last that long. My
favorite series is the AAX series, as I love the 14" mini-china and the 8" brilliant
splash. I have also noticed not too many of my drumming friends play them as
well, is that the case for you? | 1 | | Underoath Define The Great Line
Truth Custom Drums/Zildjian. Being a Truth player I have honestly never heard
better sounding drums when tech'd right. I played a lot of good sets before
Truth, and hands down they sound the best. Geoff, you are the man. Zildjian
make my favorite cymbals because 1. They last a long time 2. The A Custom
series is unbeatable in the studio 3. They look great. My favorite cymbals from
them are any size A Custom crash, and the 9" Zil-Bel. | |

02.18.11 | Ah you refined your list. I have a Gretsch kit, hard playing metal on it and my trade it in for something smaller. Zildjian is where it's at as well. | TheyTookErrJobs
02.18.11 | No love for Paiste and Pearl? That's what i'm playing atm. | MO
02.18.11 | I actually use my guitarists Pearl kit when we play shows. | promiseswept
02.18.11 | Gretsch? What kind and how big? I'll be honest I have never played any of those :( | promiseswept
02.18.11 | Paiste is so bad. I hate them | MO
02.18.11 | man my Gretsch kit is a beast. 26' bass drum, smallest tome is 14'. It's more of a jazzy kit which sucks for playing metal, Iron Cobra pedals save my life though | promiseswept
02.18.11 | iron cobras are sick. i have dw 9000's | SloppyMilkshake
02.18.11 | Zildjian; yes | UnnamedOcean
02.18.11 | My favorite brand of drums is Yamaha even though I don't own any...yet. I'm gonna buy a stage custom kit eventually. I currently play Ludwig, which I like quite a bit.
As for Cymbals, my favorites are Dream and Zildjian. My only issue is that Zildjian are way overpriced, hence why I like Dream. Generally I buy whatever cymbals I can get my hands on, so I don't stick to one brand. I have no problem owning 3 different brands.
I really don't like Paiste. Their cymbals are just way too bright for me. | ZilbelPing
02.18.11 | I like Zilbels. I like he way they go PING. | marksellsuswallets
02.18.11 | Taye? | promiseswept
