Inveigh 12.07.09	perhaps somberlain, but maybe not. I like it a lot, but not as much as a lot of the people on this site. I've got it rated a 4, but it's definitely a low 4.. I'll have to go back and listen to the first one to really be able to say which one I like more. I'd say it's about on par with Fishscale for me. Check out some of the other hip hop on this list if you haven't heard any of it; probably a little more up your alley man.

Inveigh 12.07.09	^haha, yeah I figured our lists would end up looking pretty much the same (only yours being a little more metal and mine being a little more hip hop). But yea dude, I can't get enough of Ulcerate. It literally gets better EVERY time I listen to it. And I've been listening to it almost exclusively for a good 5 or so days now. Thanks again for the rec bro.

Inveigh 12.07.09	EVedder: Yep, if I had put 4 songs I think either Wood and Wire or In Exile would've made the cut. Beggars is really a record with staying power; not necessarily a "grower" per se, but it definitely doesn't get old quickly (to me, at least). Deviant: YES. Get on Never Better asap. Although Audition (his 2006 album) is probably a little better. Ipecac Neat (2004) is really good too. Best to start with Never Better and work your way backward I suppose.

Inveigh 12.07.09	That was me this year too man, up until the last month or so (got Felt, Sole, Sol.Illaquists of Sound, Raekwon, Mos Def and Mr. Lif all recently) because there's been so much good metal this year. I was also on like a two year hip hop kick prior to '09. P.O.S. is awesome dude. He plays guitar, bass and keys/sampling on all his albums -- plus he sings and screams in addition to rapping. His hip-hop is very punk/metal/hardcore influenced. Probably my favorite emcee right now.

somberlain 12.07.09	inveigh: probably a bit more accesible than el-p's solo stuff but it's crazy lyrical. I like I'll sleep when you're dead but this is very different I would say, in a good way

somberlain 12.07.09	you're right about the beats in ISWYD and his debut Fantastic Damage was more sonically dense(even harder to listen to!) but Funcrusher has much more minmalist production

Inveigh 09.21.10	oh shit can't believe I forgot Lost Ground for this list also, I put The Original 11:11 Sessions on my '09 honorable mentions list, mainly because it was recorded in 2003-2004 and was supposed to be released back then, etc. Otherwise, it would be numero uno.
