Keep in mind, some of these aren't straight dubstep. Artists like The Bug have mixed it in with dancehall and reggae until its almost something else |

10.28.10 | Those are good tracks - he has a whole bunch of stuff floating around (including a split with Flylo) but I can't add them to the database. If you like Burial check out James Blake and Pariah - both are vocal heavy. Also, check out Clubroot.
Eno - get Clubroot's first album, its even better |

10.28.10 | Check out The Bug's first album 'Tapping The Conversation' - its much more downtempo though
Its gaining in popularity (and has been for some time) but half the people I know that listen to it are the purists who seek out good tracks and artists, and the other half who just think it sounds good in their cars and stick to the more sonic boom end of the scale |

02.15.11 | just wondering, would it be too much of an ask to ask u to describe wat dubstep sounds like? (obviously noob here) |
TMobotron
02.15.11 | You could just read up on wikipedia, but there are plenty of different styles, check out the yt links dev just posted. Id also youtube clubroot, guido or distance to get an idea for the more relaxed style. It's too hard to sum up the entire genre because IMO the best artists in it are the ones doing things differently. |
TMobotron
02.15.11 | Also, I'm very far from any sort of authority on this |
Deviant.
02.15.11 | I'll try and be as brief as possible
You know how metalcore is the combination of metal and hardcore? Well dubstep is a mix of dub (your kiwi so think Rhombus, Kora, Salmonella Dub etc) and 2 step (which is garage, and while by no means the best example think 'Has It Come To This' by The Streets for what a garage beat sounds like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTS6INVmZGI)
There are two distinct styles; the ones who play on the more garage aspects (Burial being the obvious and more well known) and the ones who rely on the more dubbish side of things (El-B, DMZ etc). And just like metalcore, you've got a new generation who have emerged and taken that underlying groovy bass of dub and pushed it to the forefront and made that as the foundation for their tracks. They take that bass and craft rhythms and lines out of it, like those Bar 9 links I posted |

Yeah, Noisia! Uh, try Black Sun Empire, Corrupt Souls (Telemetrik is in that group), Syncopix, ICBM, Skynet, and maybe Evol Intent. But there's no breaks in Telemetrik

No probs man, and Burial is just the one guy. DMZ = Digital Mystikz and the ep I put on here should serve you well, but they're much more dubbish than Burial
