| Saw Megadeth, Lamb of God and Children of Bodom
So Megadeth, Lamb of God and Children of Bodom played the 3 Arena in Dublin last night (so did Sylosis, but I didn't get there in time. Was good to be moshing again. Lamb of God played a particularly incredible and energetic set but most of the younger crowd left when they'd finished and didn't stay for the main act- blasphemous little Slipknot fanwankers. Randy Blythe talked about how he'd gotten attacked earlier by a bunch of little Dublin scumbags and urged us to neuter our feral children, pretty funny! MegaDave was awesome too, got right up front. Best gig I've been to since The Who a few months back. Anyway, here's my three favourite albums from each of those bands. An incredible show. | 1 | | Megadeth Rust in Peace
Easily one of the greatest metal albums of all time, they played most of this album, even Dawn Patrol which was actually pretty cool live. | 2 | | Megadeth Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?
Sophomore album and where the Deth really hit their stride. A classic even to this day, the title track was a fantastic mosher last night. | 3 | | Megadeth Countdown to Extinction
Some say Megadeth sold out with this. I say to hell with that, plenty of classic cuts here that were also played last night. | 4 | | Lamb of God Sacrament
Most people go with Ashes as their favourite LoG but Sacrament was my first New Wave of American Heavy Metal album outside of Slipknot and is a killer slab of grooving, thrashing madness. | 5 | | Lamb of God Ashes of the Wake
Same as above really, some balls to the wall, head banging fun to be found here. | 6 | | Lamb of God Wrath
A controversial choice, I know, but also one I've stood by 100% since 2009. Vicious shit here. | 7 | | Children of Bodom Follow the Reaper
An incredible mix of power and death metal. Soaring, layered keyboards, killer riffs and insane vox. | 8 | | Children of Bodom Hatebreeder
Sophomore effort from CoB see their novel mix of beautiful music and ear-splitting vocals forge new paths for European metal. | 9 | | Children of Bodom Are You Dead Yet?
Another controversial choice of mine, here mostly because of the awesomely ridiculous 'In your Face' which they opened with last night. But a pretty cool album overall too. | |

11.10.15 | That's great man, seeing them on the 12th m/ | JeetJeet
11.10.15 | would love to see Sylosis and LOG live. The other two....ehhhhh
and why would picking Wrath as one of your favorite LOG albums be controversial? That shit slays HARD. Fuck anyone saying otherwise. | AtomicWaste
11.10.15 | They were good with Broderick in '08 - had CoB in tow there as well, which was actually the first time I heard them. Also saw them on the first Gigantour, but sound was awful at the Sovereign Center in Reading.
Man, it's been a while since I saw Megs. Maybe for the best considering their recent offerings... | Flugmorph

11.10.15 | @jorgerodrigoallen his voice held up pretty well actually last night
@JeetJeet oh I know, I stand by it but most LoG fans I know deplore Wrath for some reason. |
