So Where's Everyone From?

Some albums I've heard from 2010. I know, havn't heard much (around 16 I think)- need recs badly!
1Joe Satriani
Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards

Really like this album, a nice return to form with a slower paced album focusing more on melody. (4)
2Disturbed
Asylum

Meh. Same old Disturbed. It's not a bad record by any means but they've relased the same album 3 times now and it's getting boring. (3)
3The Dillinger Escape Plan
Option Paralysis

Excellent album, could be AOTY for me! Brutal, technical, progressive and melodic at the same time with an excellant vocal performance. (4.5)
4Iron Maiden
The Final Frontier

Good album, but gets tiresome sometimes. Can't decide whether I like this more or less than Matter of Life and Death. Much prefered the energetic Maiden of old. (3.5)
5Avenged Sevenfold
Nightmare

Not much of a nightmare at all, actually. In fact, I was expecting something a lot worse after the s/t. Vocals are improved as are the melodies but they're still not the band they used to be. Miss the Waking the Fallen days. (3)
6Jeff Beck
Emotion & Commotion

Loved it, although obviosly not everyone agrees. If you can handle the fact that it's a very depressing album, Jeff Beck gives an outstanding performance and makes the guitar CRY with emotion. Somewhere over the Rainbow cover = Stunning. Sick live too! (4.5)
7Soulfly
Omen

Actually really enjoyed it for what it is. It's dumb and simple, but very catchy and enjoyable. (4)
8James LaBrie
Static Impulse

An improvement over his debut, JLB gives his best vocal delivery in years and some songs are catchy as hell. Very different to DTs style - sort of metalcore-y in places. Saying this, LaBrie is basically a marmite vocalist, so it won't sway the haters. (4)
936 Crazyfists
Collisions and Castaways

Generic metalcore, nothing more to say. Twas average. (2.5)
10Eminem
Recovery

Great return to form, although the commercial chorases let it down. He's almost back though! (3.5)
